one thing that confuses me about zspheres is once I make any change in the poly editing mode of it I can no longer switch back to zspheres without the editing becoming all messed up and wrecking my model when I switch back again, hmm this is probably in the practical guide I'll take a look lol

I think you should try to make it look more like a real dragon instead of a cartoon dragon. Anway its only my suggestion, don't take any offense.
