Haven't had Zbrush for long, but liking what it has so far. Little guy I made this afternoon... no texture yet... rendered in C4D.

Thanks Bluesman

Another shot. I did a quick and dirty texture job. I didn't really feel like messing around with multiple UV sets to get the texture right so I just put a base coat on in Zbrush and added bump later. I really wish 1.5's zsquare mapping came across better, in its current state it just doesn't work well.

 WOW! it looks so real! at first I thought it was a photo of a sculpture...

Let me know Puffin, did you make some post-work, or it's C4D rendering which makes a so realistic effect?
(I'm thinking to render my works in C4D now...)

It has to be the C4D lights. That looks almost as nice as the Basil beta.

Nice little critter! :) I might suggest upping the resolution of the mesh when skinning to get more defined toes. Great start though!

Hmmm....C4d looks a good renderer. Would you recommend it for it's character animation.

Just like Moonwalker I also thought that these were photographs from the thumbnails.
Did you use any radiosity in the rendering process?
Very effective and enjoyable presentation of fine work :tu:

Thanks everyone.

To answer questions, it is the native C4D renderer with radiosity and HDRI controling the lighting (the controlling image is visible in the second pic). Took about 10 min to render 800 X 600 with medium AA settings. No post effects added.

C4D is a great package and it handels Zbrushes meshes quite nicely. Worth looking into if you have the money or can get it via student discount. Although it's character animation tools aren't the greatest, but I think with release 8 they have added more functionality to it (pose to pose animation and such that other packages have) and there are some plugins to aide in other ways.

C4D uses Final render as it's rendering engine in propriatory ways. It's rendering engine is as good as any on the market, including Brazil..The best deal if you are looking, is to get C4d Art Version, it doesn't have the animation parts but it does come with a complete rendering package. It's hard to imagine paying so much for a renderer, but good rendering programs Cost a fortune..

UVTiles will work fine in C4D if you turn off the texture Antialiasing/Mipmapping in Cinema 4D.

This will no longer be necessary, however, after the release of the bonus upgrade. UVTiles will work properly with or without texture antialiasing or mipmapping.
