That's pretty cool man. How long did it take?
Thanks Billrobertson42. It's hard to say how long it took. I would say around 10 hours or so. but that’s just an estimation
looks lika a ...... zombie :tu: something wrong with his mouth in max ?
Deteail a little teh foot, and change the stomach muscle and it will be perfect :] Waiting till you texture it :]
Hey Thanks slocik, Yeah the final low poly geometry is not finalized yet. so the mouth is still a little jacked up in max.
The entire character was made with zspheres.
Thanks for the crits! :D

Hey -E-
This is very nice. Question: can you actually paint bump maps while seeing your color texture on the model?
I tired many different ways to view my textured model with the bump material in ZBrush but never got it to work.
What I want to do is apply a material to the model and be able to paint my bump map while still actually "seeing" my material (texture).
Any ideas how to do this?
Thanks and keep up the good work,
Hamzah
No, I do not know of any way to do that.
Close up render of side of the head
thanks to everyone that has replied so far. I really appreciate it. Please keep the C&C coming! ;)

This is very nice. Question: can you actually paint bump maps while seeing your color texture on the model?
Two ideas:
Use ZAppLink and add a new layer at about 70% opacity paint your bump map on that layer. Then copy and paste that layer to a new document of the same size and up the opacity to 100%. Delete the new layer from your texture.
Open your texture in PhotoShop and do the same.
Should work?

I know your proud of your zombie but wow do these images realy need to be this huge?;)

Hey Blaine, what do you mean by copying and pasting the new layer to a new document? do I do this in Photoshop?
Please explain more. I am still new to this stuff.
Thanks a million

noshadowmaster - I know your proud of your zombie but wow do these images really need to be this huge? ;) heh yes and no... I find it really hard to see all the detail that goes into the model when not viewed at a high rez. When made smaller it looses all the detail. I have had people both like and dislike the highrez shots. Mostly I find that artists monitors are around if not above 1600x1200 rez so for most people its not that big of a deal.
(and to be honest I am acutally not all that proud of him)
And I personally dislike it when artists post renders of their shots and it's so small you can't see any of the detail and hard work that went into creating the image. (which happens a lot) But perhaps there is a better middle ground.... ;)

Looks good :tu: This monitor is 1280 x 1024 and the image size is just right. At 1600 x 1200 its actualy a little small.

The texture looks great.:tu: My only thought would be a little more contrast to make the teeth rise out of the gums rather than looking like they are blending into the gums. If I'm making any sense? Maybe a sharp nearly black line along the edge or a color not used anywhere else? The colors work realy well.
real quick lighting update

Seriously top row stuff, five stars from me! :tu:

- Blaine91555 - Thank you.
So yesterday was my birthday and I haven’t posted an update on this little bugger for a long time so to commemorate my birth lol, here is the latest, also here is my process, zsphere, low poly, model, color.
You can click on the bottom two pictures to view the high rez versions; it is a little hard to see the bump map otherwise. Comments and crits are always welcome.

Great details "--E--" really nice sculpt.
For sure, Top Row 5 stars for me.
Emmanuel
Your skin texture is brilliant, amazing job.
How did you avoid seams when you rendered your model..
I am really curious about this because you divided the model into polygroups, and I have not had as good as a result.
Did you use displacement maps?
Top row from me.
Bimm the Stone - Thanks,
jit_gohil - Thanks
Maya4fun - Thank you.
odhinn - Thanks, The model is all rendered in zbrush, every piece of this guy was made in zbrush. the poly groups are made from the zspheres not separate uv regions, no displacement maps just bump.
Any crits out there? Be as harsh as you want please, I need all the help I can get :)

realy nice work !
5 stars
i relly like the head texture :] osmething really cool about it :D
But i dont like the arms and hand muscles, eaven if it a zombie, he schould be based on human anatomy :] And you could have done something with those foot, add more details, you have a lot of polys to work on :]
Bernard Caumes - Thanks I like your zombie a lot to, maybe we should sit down sometime and discuss zombies lol jk
slocik - Thanks, about the anatomy, what parts of the arms and hands stand out to you as not being correct? What would you change? I agree it's not dead on it's not suppose to be, but I also don't think it's all that off, I based all his anatomy and muscle structure off of a humans and then changed it and pushed to be more stylized to meet my needs ;)
The legs definitely could use more luvin I am 100% with you on that one. Thank you very much for your advice though, it's something I can actually use!
the problem is where they start and end, some some to be to short and other just to lung, actually you cant see baisep ending at all :]
long break on this guy, coming back to do some updates, first, quick lighting update and messing with perspective.
here are some new shots

This is a great looking zombie! Fantastic skin details. Just wondering if you have done anything to fix the max displacement? I mean his mouth area, and was that due to low polygons in that area?

That model looks awesome. I dont know the World of Warcraft zombie but to me the nose looks a little wierd. It's too big and round in my opinion.
Besides that. I really like the thing you did to the eyes! Makes the creature looks much more believable.

That's an awfull detailled looking model! Really like the 'position' of the overall model. It's really detailled at the places where it is needed. Are you gonna use this model for animation? Really want to know what the 'displacement mapping' reveales if you use the Max skin-modifier, do you use Mental Ray or the default scanline renderer.
Keep on ZBrushing and hope you don't mind feeling free to put you on the 'buddy-list' ;)

This is definitely the coolest zombie I've ever seen.
And I'm not even a zombie fan.
hmm this is very odd... an extremely old image of mine shows up on the bottom row from an extremely old thread, but I didn't re post it.....
Not sure what is going on here, I think there is something screwy with ZBC server maybe?
Anyhow thanks for the kind words Cheshire :D
I am not sure If I will ever finish this guy, he needs a complete retop. Not something I enjoy doing :D
