View Full Version : little dragon
Hullo!!
This is one of my first zbrush things ive ever done - just after the beta i think. It was for a talk i gave and it was really quickly made back then. Now i spent some more time for a nice render (mray). The actual zbrushing is actually a bit weak I think but i liked the character overall!
anyhow here it is:
drago.JPG (javascript:zb_insimg('24564','drago.JPG',1,0))
and a wire:

have fun,

HAhaha the little guy made my day! This is the coolest Dragon I've ever seen.
In the rulez for ultra cool models it is written that you shall animate him! I hope you do. Seems the PERFECT model for a cool Tabasco advertising....

Cool!
That thing just makes you want to smile! Great job, I love the work you did on your head models as well!
Can't wait to see more of your work.

It's wonderful! Can you post some settings? i.e. Normal or displacement mapping? Also bumpmap? Is it Mental ray? the bones are CAT or Biped? first one I think...
Anyway it's really a nice character, very funny and very ravenous :)
keepup!

I saw that...but I thought it was way too weird ...and if you invert the luma on the all picture it says..."I am Evil" in the wrinkles
HELLO again!!
Thanks for all the nice feedback! I wish i had more time then I would do more with him!
ludikastyle: Its just using mental ray displacement, i also put on a simple tilable leatherlike bump/specualr map. There is ambient occlusion and some reflection in there too, plus 3 area spotlights (back, front and the red underlight). The dof is cheaply done in ps..
I found some more wip images, i actually started with zspheres and finsihed the model in max. I also found an old animation (Andrew Brunton, an old college at Lionhead made it really quickly), so there you go! He moves! :)

and the animation (just a walkcycle) (http://www.svarovsky.org/%7Eseb/drago.mov)

 the first pic is great, because it looks like plasticine
superb render :tu:
Hmm, i've just seen the animation... you did it in max, didnīt you? So, i think you could use those bones in the wings, as the dragon walks with a bouncing, slightly opening & closing the wings in an umbrella style, they look stiff...
Only a suggestion, the model is superb:D

Hmmmm, very nice character. ;) That initial shot is wonderful. The animation might be cuter and more informative, if the camera moved around a bit, say towards the little fellas head to reveal more of the overall motion. Keep this thread up-to-date, we may be talking.
Woah-haha-ha
Sooo cool - heīs so sweet. so fluffy -
Puff - the drunken Dragon.
Great - keep on the good work.

rofl, i love the walkcycle :D
Thank youuuuuuu :D
Fergus: You got me ;) Sweet illustrations in that book no? :)
In general all this had to be really quick as I said - Andrew made the animation (plus a few others over his lunchbreak! :). I remember i had that talk monday and sunday 12 pm i didnt have a single slide :o.
All went well though!
Thanks again!
seeeeb :D
Indeed :D . Not only the delirant tales of Terry Pratchett, but all this book is a great source of inspiration. I remember someboby modeled - not remember here or another forum - Cohen the Barbarian & all his horde.
In fact, this dragon was my first polymodeling in max, but yours looks much better... now iīm planning model Rincewind
All the best

kasia97, perhaps you should take a look at many of the tutorials on the Zbrush site. They all show this with immense detail through little movies. All done by very talented individuals.
Of course a search of the forum for wrinkles, decobrush, skin, might all yeild amazing ideas to help you out. ;)
