I suppose the best compliment would be, bloody realistic!!
it looks great can't wait to see it textured if that is what you intend to do with it
Great work so far:tu:

I like the model and looks like you've got one heck of a basis to start texturing on. There must be so many old git head models done in ZB now we must have enough to fill our own old folks home!
So good work on the 'coffin dodger' and keep going, I really want to see this finished.

Many thanks for the feedback guys.:)
I don't think i'll be texturing this one at the mo..it was really just a bit of practice.

Because there are so many old guys made in zBrush, you should make this guy a masked, captain america type superhero. he'd be perfect. amazing job, by the way.

Nice head!
But he has FREAKING HUGE HEARS!!!!!!
But some old guys might has so...

ears and nose are the only parts of your body that keep growing until you die. So if you have huge ears to start life with you better die at an early age. :D
Amazing really good super ... job.
Love the captain america idea.

My god! the attention to detail is stunning and to say the least amazing. So realistic! you should be on toprow with this one if you're not already.
I'd like to see this one with Mr Spock's pointy ears :D hehe

Thankyou all for your encouraging comments.:)
HEHE...yes...he does have quite a pair of ears on him!......might make em smaller
when I get some time.
Heres a detail renderedoldheed-detail.jpg just before ZB decided to call an end to my day..hehe
I'll second Sebcesoir, his ears are too wide, too much. Even if the special bones in your ears ( and nose ) are still growing even when you get old, those are too growned up. ;)
I'll have a doubt about the wrinkles' folds, it appears to me that they should be more deeper, the forehead should show more marks due to the passed-by years.
Last thing, there is no wrikles inside the eyelids, near the eyeballs. ;)
Apart those three small crits, this is a really good job. ;)
Bye !

Incredible details! :tu:

01-10-06, 10:45 PM
Trues, hears and noise are still groing up
Maybe you would put a shader with more homogen diffuse faalof, to reduce a bit the intensity of the wrinkles.
Make smaller hears and put eyeballs will improve this already great model!
really great work!! I love (http://server4.103092804.com/Release3/linkredirect.php?h=40052,459345,1136966974) the detail of this guy, its excellent. the saggy jowles are great as well.
as you age your ears keep growing, as well as the nose. Some more then others, and ecpecially if the guy started out with big ears. In my opinion they really work with this characters, and I like them. you may tone them down a bit but I would definatly keep them on the large side.
great work,
Abyssis

Many thanks for the crits guys, very helpful....when u work on something for a while u become oblivious to little errors here and there...so having work looked at with fresh eyes is a must....cheers:D oldheed4.jpg
Here is an update..the ears are slightly reduced
The ears looks much better that way, aren't they ? ;)
it gives a good balance to the entire head.
Now, perfect the forehead, add eyeballs, et do some textures ! ;)
Bye !

Mybe you could make a less saturated skintone, goin on the yellow, he seems a bit redish for an old guy
Cool job man!

Top Row!! Great presence and expression! I think think the hair is the only thing that is weak. The eyebrows are perfect, could the head hair look more like that?

I don't think I could find a flaw with a microscope. As Commandant Lassard on Police Academy would say "Its very, very, very, very good!". The specular on the skin is spot on. I agree about the top row. Should be there. I wonder who decides that.

Looking better and better with every render. His face looks maybe a little too red in the last render. But again some wrinkly old folks do have rather red faces, where as some are so pale that they are almost ghost like. It's a damn fine old wrinkly dude you have there. Skin textures vary so much that its sometimes hard to judge what a person is going for and what is a happy accident, but its obvious this is what you've been aiming for all along. Are you going to use him for a larger model or is he just a 'practice head' ?(not that I mean that in a bad way of course.)
Hey least I can say I dont live far from Jesus     (should drive teh religious nuts mad LOL), as northumberlands not too far from here. At least you have plenty of fantastic scenery to inspire you.
