I'm needin' some help from anyone. There is probably a real easy solution to this, but I'm not finding it despite all the tutorials and threads I've read over the past month. This is probably some stupid mental block I'm having.

Here's the prob - I want to create some faint fog/condensation coming out of this guys mouth and also some little clouds in front of the mountains. The mountains, the man and sky are all on different layers. It seems like the only way I can create it is insert a new layer and plane and touch it up or use one of the brushes with zadd on; but then I lose any type of transparency/wispy effect. Any help is appreciated as are any critiques.

I sure hope this guy doesn't get too cold without a hat on :)

Add a layer on top and paint the breath, which is what I'm assuming you want. If that's a problem, load the image into Photoshop and paint in layer over the image. OR load the image into yer OTHER favorite 3-D program and render the breath fog with particles. OR
when you load the image to show friends breathe
on the monitor over his mouth...I just tried it...Works great...The trouble is trying to do this for everyone on the forum, the travel expences alone would be a killer! I mean WE could do it ourselves but that's not the same as you doing for us. YOU are the artist after all... :)

hahaha Dickie you made me inhale my bacon egg and cheese muffin the wrong way...cough cough sputter sputter.

like Dickie said use a second layer, a cool alpha and a low intensity to create that effect in Z.....if ya don't like it you can always create another layer and try again til ya get the look ya want.

LOL Thanks for the suggestions! Breathe on the monitor! :p

I'll mess around with it some more. I'm trying to keep the piece from start to finish in Zbrush, but I'll throw in some Photoshop if I have to.
