I've recieved a couple of emails asking how I get my overall body shape when constructing my model out of ZSpheres, especially My shoulder, stomachs and back region. I've made a quick little tutorial ZScript that demonstrates the way I do it.

I also had a few questions reguarding the same thing I had trouble with. That was fingers. The problem I had, I was skinning the zspheres at a too low a resolution, or making it too low to begin with.

Within the Zscript you will notice the first 'skinned' model has screwy fingers due to this problem, then you will see me create another at a higher resolution, and you can see how dramatically it enhances the figures shape.

Another alternate way of doing hands, which I figured out after recording this zscript. Instead of making your WHOLE model hi-poly and taking up alot of space, you can construct your body out of normal poly zspheres, then when you come to do the hands, slide the 'resolution' slider up to 256, add the zspheres for the hand, then take the slider back down again.

If you have any problems with the zscript please let me know.

Glad it worked out great. It's not much of a refined Zscript, however im working on one, that displayes modelling, skinning, further modelling and some texturing.

Thanks MJ. Now we have ZSpheres I'm almost beginning to think there may be some hope for my attempts at organic modelling after all - this can only help! :tu: :) :tu:

Hun i have the same problem with the hands... I did the hands after the body... in another zsphere tool.... I don't understand how you do to change the resolution. Can you do a litle tutorial for it? Thanks

Hey B, if you are building a ZSphere tool, and wish to increase the resolution at some point, go to Tools->Inventory, and at the top of the panel you'll find a resolution slider...If you move this up, the next ZSphere you add will be higher resolution according to your setting...Hope this helps... ;)

EDIT: Lonnie has informed me that the information I posted may not be accurate regarding the resolution situation...It seems to work for me when adding fingers, but I will be doing some experimentation to find out WHY it works...Thanx Mentat!

Yet Another EDIT! : It appears that the information I gave IS incorrect, and that the only resolution modification is in the 'IRes' slider, so I still don't know why what I suggested seems to work for me...

Sprite, right click on the link and choose save as. That will bring up a screen to let you choose where to save the file on your computer and also change the file name to something more descriptive. This is for PC (windows); I'm afraid I don't know a thing about mac commands.

MJ, thanks for the script!!
