Displacement Map extraction

Hello,
i'm new to the software. i just got it zbrush 2 today.
been trying to follow along the help file and can't seem to get a displacement map of my model extracted.

can someone walk me through it in plain english?

also, if someone can explain how to load said ddisplacement map into maya.
