Hi there

I'm new here and just checked out the pixologic website, why? well.....came accross this thread here http://www.garagegames.com/mg/forums/result.thread.php?qt=17366
I am into making games etc. and I'm using the Torque engine.
Now I have questions! :D
Zbrush 2.0 seems AMAZING!!! esp. what the people on these forums are creating. I am blown away.
How will zbrush fit into a game dev's art pipeline? THere was mention that it doesnt produce good "geometry" for animation?
I saw someone here making a mod for Quake. THat model looks SICK by the way...very very wel done. How are you gonna import that into the game and how are you going to do the animation / rigging?
I dont see that Zbrush can do rigging....and it doesnt need to man it looks like A SWEET moddeler to me at a price I might barely afford.
What are the learning editions limitations?
So can you guys give me some insight here please i would be VERY greatfull.

I don't know what the limitations are for the Torque engine, but Zbrush is a great addition to any type of modeling project no matter what it's going to be used for.
Some may say that Zbrush doesn't create good typology for rigging, but I suppose that's just a matter of opinion. As far as texturing goes, I don't know if the torque engine supports UV tile texturing, if not, you can always UV map a model in another program and import that as an object file into Zbrush which can read many different types of UV mapping methods.
Zbrush can then subdivide the model into a high-poly model for the purpose of creating a nomal, bump, or displacement map which many game engines use.
The model then could be exported at the low poly count that it was imported as with the normal or displacement map attached to make it look like a highly detailed object.
I don't think most of the latest plug-ins work with the demo version, but it's still worth your time to download and play around with it.

you can always import obj or dxf files so if ya don't like it's topo do it elsewhere and bring it. It's great for doing high rez detailing and doing norm, disp, bump maps.

you can't use the big 3 plugins, cannot save a tool either and also think that saving textures or alphas is disabled as well but not positive. Which means you can test drive all the features but lose the work if you close that session. Great for learning how it works tho as there is an absolute ton of things ZB can do.

worth every dime!!

Thanks guys, Sounds like a plan...I'll first play with it a bit to get the feel and then look into it further.
Zbrush seems awesome!
