View Full Version : Wreath - WIP now with ZScript ****
This is all one piece - zspheres, except the gem in the middle. I plan more details for this image, but have to go to bed now, so I thought I'd post a WIP. Probably will replace the gemstone with another flower, bigger and in full bloom.
Tell you what, Zspheres are incredible for this kind of thing!

I agree! This is beautiful now! I really want to see it when you are finished. Your branches are so realistic, peach roses - I love it!

fantabulous use of symmetry, Brian! wonderful! :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu:

I did a zcript showing how the weaving was done on the wreath. I only used 8 points of symmetry on the script, but my image has 12. The flowers were simply larger spheres on the ends that I then edited on the skinned version with edit/move.
This script worked when I tested it, so I hope you all have no problems either!

I didn't have any problem with the script Brian, and it was also great fun to watch! :D
Thanx, Bud!

Another variation...zspheres are easy to colorize. To do this one, turn symmetry off, you only want to color one vine at a time. Then, while still in edit mode, turn off zadd. Increase draw size to about 10. Pick a color and click only on the parent spheres, not the link spheres. What will happen is you will get a color blend between spheres. By clicking on every sphere in your vine, you get a solid color. Try changing colors within a vine, you will get a blend. Very nice. Now, when you skin the project, it will retain the nice smooth colors.

That's very beautiful Slosh! :tu:
It's reminiscent of some celtic knotwork type patterns I've seen.

Nice work, Slosh. :tu: :tu: :tu:
And I agree with WingedOne - at first glance I thought it was a Celtic knot - and trying to do those makes my brain hurt! :D
Funny you should both mention Celtic knots, since that was what I originally was setting out to do. A coworker was wearing a Celtic knot brooch, and I said "I have to go home and try that!"
Anyway, I got working and came up with this wreath (not really, though, since there is no hole in the center).
These are beautiful Slosh! I like them both, but prefer the texture and flowers on the first. The design is very intricate and does look like celtic knotwork :tu:

Great image! Thank you for the script :D
Slosh, thanks for the cool pictures *and* the script -- I would never have thought of weaving with Zspheres :tu: :tu: :tu:
