When adding more then say 3 or four spheres coming off of one Zsphere, it tweaks it all out. SO I turned down the amount of Zspheres before making it higher iteration, so now it looks like a sphere completely in preview mode. Is there any way that I can make it not tweak out, but also make it not look like a sphere? I can't figure it out, and I've looked for tutorials on how to do it, and they don't really say.

Thanks everyone,

Cheers

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by 'tweak' out. If you could clarify your question a bit more it would help.

I think I might have an idea of what you are asking. Your main base ZSphere, say for something like a head, is not looking how you would like when you add other ZSpheres for the eyes, nose, mouth, ears, etc? Turning the IRES slider down can help and the membrane setting up but a more precise way of making adjustments on a sphere by sphere basis is to use a script written by TVEyes called XYZ Adjust. It's an incredibly useful script for ZSphere modeling. I don't know what I would do without it. It might help with some of the problems you are having.

Also, try playing around with magnet spheres. They can be very useful helpers in influencing the geometry to a desired shape and help make easy corrections to the form.

I hope that helps point you in the right directions. If you could clarify your original question either I or others might be able to help you a little more.

this is what im talkin about. It tweaks all out :) Like overlapping polys.

Now I COULD fix this by lowering the amount of Zspheres attached before it subdivides it, but then it just looks spherical. Like this:

hope that clears up what im talkin about. THANKS!!!

Looks like you need to play with Zspheres a bit more tolearn how they work. Here is a pic of what I think you trying to do.

before creating a zsphere that you want to hold alot of child spheres.....go to transform menu.....go down to x,y,z transfrom thing and up it to maybe 3 then create that sphere, then go back and put it back to zero or one for the fingers or whatever child spheres.....should solve the problem.

Just like Tantramancer stated you really should try out the XYZ Script, it is so helpfull when modelling with ZSpheres you'll find it here http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=015681

Ok guys thanks alot. I decided I'd just model the base model in maya first off, and then do the detail work in Zbrush. I'll continue to work with the Zspheres and what not too, but I need to start a project :)

thanks and cheers, that script is coo!
