Been lurking around for a while. Thought I'd finally get my hands dirty and model my first Z with the demo. Love this program cuz I really stink with all the other 3D stuff (like C4D and Silo). I'm too impatient. Can't wait until I can afford the full version.
Nothing groundbreaking in terms of character design, but I was able to accomplish this with just a mouse and no tablet. Forgot it at home. Ear really tripped me up---needs lotsa work. ZBrush Document.jpg
nice! (i never use the tablet ^^ i am a USE MOUSE ONLY modeler:p :p ) anyway funny character ^^

Welcome to the 'mouse only' modelling club! While I do have an incredibly cheap tablet its so damn small that it's worse than a mouse so I don't use it. I found that Zbrush is great once you start being able to make things that would take a lot longer in any other modelling package. Nice start, so keep at it and you'll suprise yourself how far you'll come in a short time. I've only been 'zbrushing' for about a month or two (and most of that time is spent helping with my son) so I know you'll have a great time here and produce some damn fine models in your time.
Good Look

FINALLY got my full version of the Z!!!! Christmas came a little early this year! Rendered my first z creation in zbrush. Got some weird artifacts though. Probably just some settings I have to adjust. Overall though, not too shabby for my first go. firstz-2.jpg

Nice looking skin/light set up. If the 'artifacts' you're referring to are pixelated edges, you need to make sure all final renders are done in AAHalf mode. It cures all ills. Well, jaggies at any rate.

not to mention/credit that the skin/lighting were from Antropus's "Picasso" tutorial. Thanks for the tip Mooch. This is such an awesome user community. :D
