been a bit taken with this latest attempt at 3D cartooning. I decided to go with ZBrush as the modeling and texturing part, Carrara as the compostiting and rendering part.
First up is a animation of a mermaid. Been working on the background. Here's an experiment using ZBrush for the model and texture, rendered using just a spot light in Carrara:

I exported the model as a OBJ. When I did the texture, it defaulted to AUV Tiles. I opened the BMP that was created by the export, saved it as a TIFF file and you know what, Carrara had no problem with it. I imported the OBJ using the default settings, except I made it conver the obj as One Object.
Here's a rendered large size of the first frame of my test animation:

I really like how "painterly" it kinda looks like.
