I didn't know what to call this one sooo...

It's just practice with meshes on heads again...I can't seem to get smooth heads. I'm adaptive skins because unified use to much resources and I've smoothed but the only way I can get rid of the poly look is post work. And, I have a nasty looking mesh although I divided the whole head and didn't do any mask dividing. Hmmmmmm....

Anywho...seems the poor guy can't get any rest because his two pets keep chasing around him....on a cold, cold evening.

And here's the mucked up mesh. Kinda wierd.

And, one other oddity. Although I have compact memory set to 256mb, I noticed it being reported by Z at one time as using 410mb? I checked task manager and sure enough it was reporting the same amount and I was getting pretty low.

I love the cat!

:)

Nothing intelligent to say about the Memory iisue but .... AAAUURRIIKKK!!

Besides i want to add that i really very much like the eye sockets of your character - good job there :)
But another thing i want to point out is his upper jaw-where the nose intersects with the lips. I believe he has no teeth to push out the skin a little more ;) ´

Oh and i just noticed the bugger biting his foot :) :tu: :tu:

Where do I start?! The fire is very cool (or hot?), creepy little bug, and wonderful cat. The guy is very identifiable as yours-you have a unique style that I recognize immediately. Wondering how you modeled the cat...zspheres?

Also, in relation to your smoothing problem...with adaptive skinned models, it is sometimes necessary to use the smooth slider located at the top of the modifiers subpallete. The highest setting is 1, it is not the same as smooth in the deform subpalette. You might have already been aware of this, but it looks like maybe not. Or, it looks like your model might be in Quick 3d Edit, which makes the polygons visible. Maybe not, but it's worth a shot.

I wouldn't know how to help with the mesh problem sorry. But I like your picture and love the cat. How did you do him??

Thanks for the comments. :D

Alas, I did not do the cat, bug or fire. They're PSP additions after the fact. I should have mentioned that when I posted. Sorry. :(

Slosh! Thank you very much! That did the trick with the other smoother. :D

Nemo, you're correct. He had teeth at one point but because of the poor modeling of the mouth area they just didn't fit well so I took them out to remodel the head but that area was already so dorked that it just got messed up more.

Bummer on the cat, but YEA! on the smoothing. Glad it helped. I need a cat for my current image. You know I can do a head, but I don't know about full body. Guess I will have to try. I was gonna ask to borrow your model. :(

LOL, Juandel! Very cool cat! :D

Just came back to show the reason I used the PSP cat and saw your post.

My feeble attempt at a Zif cat....

And the feeble tool....

Since I was practicing heads I just didn't take the time to figure out a cat.

These are both so cute! Juandel's looks like a kitten (house cat) and Vikki's looks like a lion cub. And to be honest, I really don't think I could do it better.

Nice work, Vikki. I love the colours, and the robe is ace. :tu: :tu: :tu:

BTW I don't see any problem with using the PSP tubes - I know for a fact I couldn't model or paint anywhere near as good a feline, so why not use the tools that are available? I don't always comment on them, but I've spent so much time browsing the tube collections that not many escape my notice. I've used all three of the tubes in your picture myself in PSP images, funnily enough also including the scarab beetle and the same cat (in sitting posture in mine) together in the same picture.
