Flycatcher

An experiment. A landscape, complete with sea and waves, was generated using Fractal ViZion Elite (http://www.geocities.com/Soho/Lofts/5601).
The original magenta hue of the land was colourised to a more natural shade using Paint Shop Pro. No other changes were made to this or the water. As the sky area was already completely black, it was imported into ZBrush as a transparent texture and mapped onto a 3D plane over a separate sky layer. The initially rather featureless linear slope of the horizon line was broken up by adding irregular rocks with the depth brush, and a large hill created in a similar fashion over a few scattered initial cubes. Vegetation was added to the slopes using the spray stroke and the fibre brush. Finally a few birds were added using PSP.

This freeware program has further potential for use with ZBrush and other graphics programs that I have ony just begin to investigate (only downloaded yesterday). To illustrate the versatility of the program, the following abstract leaf shape was also generated with FVE. The only modification (with PSP, not ZBrush in this instance) was to change the colors from all magenta shades with black and white to the present hues and texture. Although no ZBrush was involved in this image, I thought people might be interested to see a radically different output from it that indicates its suitablility for generating textures for use in Z. The present image for instance would make a passable texture for a style approaching an art deco vase.
