I didnt really do anything special.
-The branches are made with Zsphere's Adaptive skinning.
-Then I divided and smoothed them a couple of times.
Loaded a weird looking texture , changed the texture mode for the branch to frontal.
-Made an alpha from the texture
-Applied the alpha onto the branch and Inflated the branch a bit , a little smoothing too.
-Applied the basic material to it. Changed the diffusion curve a bit, specularity to 100
-I created 3 of the same branches in the canvas , rotated and resized them a bit.
-Started adding the flowers and leaves
(the flower were made by making a white-black flower image , loading it into zbrush and making it a 3d tool , then applying some gravity to it.)
-Then I painted a simple background as first layer , made all the other layers invisible and baked the background , made all other layers visible again. This was to make sure the branches wouldnt drop a shadow on the background.
-Then I baked the entire image with a best render and used the fibre brush a bit together with the StarTool (cant remember the name at the moment but you can use it to import Obj) which I smoothes 3 times so it looked like a little flower and then I painted a few of these little flowers with the Spray Stroke.
-Changed the lighting a bit and made the Shadow intensity for 3 Sun type lights 100.
-Best render again.
finishes

Thanks for the walkthrough buddy, I myself learned a bit from it ;)

Mr. Z , I imported a a black white image as an alpha and used the Make3D option that makes a 3d image from you alpha with the given resolution and depth. Similar process to unified skinning I think.
