Hey there,

bas_wip_02.jpg

Still in early detailing stage, but I thought it'd be time to open a WIP thread, get some crits, etc. I created the baseMesh in XSI (what a fun package!) and everything else will be done in ZBrush.

The form of the eyes still sucks, gotta work on them now. It's still in early SubD lvls (SubD lvl3, 48.264 polys), still play around with the forms, the fat in the face, etc. I try to incorporate the strong, masculine Frank Miller drawing style into the face and mix it with some anatomy references from 3d.sk.

Hope you guys like it, don't hesitate to CnC! :)

Hey Thomas! It looks you got the handle of XSI already hehehe!! Yeah I've been practicing too with XSI and thx again for the links you sent me, those were very helpful to get familiar with the software. I'm still working a little bit slow with XSI tho, I think it's just time until I get more friendly with it. I have some trouble extruding poligon faces and how to split faces like in maya. OHhh and very nice work by the way. Hope to see another tutorial like the one you did for pixologic if is posible. Ok Thomas thx again and have a good one!!!:D

Nice modeling, but I think the nose is over the top in being bulbous.

Nice modeling indeed !

But, if I may, be careful with your textures, it will make the difference between a cartoonish caracter and a more realistic one. :)

I'm looking forward your finished project,

Bye !

Bad joke, I know. Cool modelling. XSI's the best, isn't it.

Hey Guys,

I wasn't sure if I should post this one at such an early stage, but this here reminds me of how useful CnC can be! Thanks a lot, guys! :)

@Patton: That's awesome, thanks! Are you one of the KNB guys or was this bust a personal project? You put my digital model to shame, man... ;) Now I have to come up with something awesome, to kick your butt, heh! Thanks a lot man, I'm grateful!

I'll post some updates later on today!

Yeah, I'm one of those KNB guys, but I did not work on Yellow Bastard.
I designed Marv , as usual no credit on the film of book, but I think I get credit in the new Cinefex artical...but enough about me,
Great work on Y.B. so far.

Very cool. I just saw this on the Tweak forum as well and really got a kick out of it. Hope to see you refine it some more. Take care.

In Perspective this time, still no PM details, still working out the components of the face.

@Patton: Awesome to have you here, thanks for the crits, man! I bought the Sin City Artbook, are you in there somewhere? You guys did an awesome job on Sin City, the busts in the artbook have a freaking great style and still look believable.

I'm glad you guys like it. I'll put some more work into it today, I should fine-detail specific areas now. Eyes are still early, still playing around with the forms.

Hmmm, weird. I uploaded it to the Pixo Image Server, seems that it didn't work correctly.

Anways, here we go again:

Maybe Ryan is reading along, if you know where the problem with the attachment lies, just edit this post here and kill the link, so that modem users don't have to load up the same image again - thanks! :)
