View Full Version : Tips of the week Thread (post your tip of the week!)
Hi everyone, I'm starting this thread in hope that some of you will share some tips here! :D
I'm always in for tips and ideas.
My tip for the week:
notice when trying to use different materials, one often ends up with jaggies where the two materials meet, there is a way around this, after you have completed the texturing process, bake the image and then paint the material only onto the section that you need it on, try it, the material goes on smooth and blends beautifully!
Anyone care to share their experiences? :)

two tips I recently learned.....
Document size....Always start out with hitting the double document size and then do a CTRL 0 (zero)...that will get rid of alot of jaggies/the antialiasing thing...and give a much smoother render...
Fiber brush.....bake the image to apply better hair ...(ctrl B after best render)...choose flat material ....low density in fiberbrush modifiers and low zadd and zintensity settings...
Thanks Ron, nice tips man!
I'm sure I'll use them, I knew about no.2, and I'll sure give no.1 a try too!
Right, everyone else, dont be shy, we're all Zbrush users here! :D

i too learned something the other day.. placing a marker on the screen for a tool then drop your tool to texture it using the texture master., now choose the shader brush in the tool pallete and click on the marker.. the shade brush effects the whole tool instead of parts you color manually...select other brushes and it should do the same.. have fun.cool thread.

When you are Smudging Press the Ctrl key and your brush takes the color of the current palette or texture!!! Very useful for the painters :)

I would like just to bring a precision to the post of Ron. concerning the ShortCut "Ctrl O" which corresponds in fact to a deZoom with anti-aliasing. this option (clever) makes it possible, when one works on large document, to be able to have a sight General without burs made by the aliasing pixels. you find this option with the ZOOM tool. thus for those which would not have very understood it is not a reel redimensioning of the document.
voila. :)

Here's a discovery that I made:
You can get a greater depth-of-field effect by adjusting the "blur" and "size" amounts in the anti-aliasing pallette when you have "Render Depth Cue" switched on in the Render pallette.
