I'm new to ZBrush so if this is an old topic please direct me to the the old thread.

I have a character modelled in max that I'd like to refine in ZBrush. In order to get the most detail in the texture I planned to use mutliple maps on the one character (one for the face, one for the body, etc.) If I lay out the UV's in something like Body Paint3D or Deep Paint and export that back to max, can I export it into ZBrush and be able to work with the multiple maps?

Is this the best way to do it? If I use one map, it'll have to be huge. I want the camera in the animation to be right on the guy.

Thanks.

Well since you can use up to 99 mapping channels in max (should be enough) you could use mapping from whatever program you wish and ship it back and forth...

You can also blend maps with masking in the material editor to further suit your needs...

I would recommend Texporter to extract the map from max, it's good and free... just check www.maxplugins.de (http://www.maxplugins.de)
