View Full Version : Griffin Character (WIP)
I decided to try something a bit different for me. A non-humanoid character.
I'm still a bit weak in design, so I set a challenge to myself to design something alien or mythological. This Griffin type character is a bit of both. I'm
still working out the flow. I'm 80% there, I'd say. Having fun and trying new techniques. Hope ya like him...

neat design, and creativity :
Sorry I haven't answered this post lately. I've benn modifying him, but have not been too happy with the updates yet. Some designs are easier than others to get what you want, I guess.
SanAndreas: I have to see where I go with this to see if I'm going to bother to do a bdoy for him. If I get something I really like, then yes, I will...
Wordsmith: Thank you and your welcome...:D
Mattybyng: Thank you and it just takes a lot of hard work and prctice; FOr every good one, I have 3 or 4 bad ones you never see...
Bas: Thank you. I'm still working that area out, actually. I might just go back to this version and start again.
BokoWar: Thanks...:D
MrLearner: Thank you, I think he has some potential...
MattHHH: Thanks. I'm still learning to get a real style down. It's a long process, but a fun one...
Baline91555: Thank you...:D
Polaris30: Thanks, and good to hear from you...:tu:
Well, here he is updated, but he WILL be changing. PLEASE give some 121 as any and all suggestions and crits are welcome.

That last one looks very good Dickie...its more bird -like then the previous render..it has something to do with the nasal area..in your first render it looked more like a monkey snout..it must be the the nasal area that is very high on the beak and the nasa-cavity's close together, making it look less birdlike..in the second render the ridges on the beak are sharper and more pronounced ,and look more bird-like, and losing the heavy brow makes it better

Jantim: You are correct. When I made the first one, I too was reminded of a monkey. Kinda like the flying monkeys in the Wizard of Oz. I still am not happy with the eyebrows yet, but they are better than my usual overdone brows.
Thank you for your input...:D

Dickie,
Wow, this is really impressive sculpture. I really low how this is more sculptural that realistic, it kinda occupies a toon/sculpture space. Anyways, I like the eyebrows, keep going, I love griffins. :)

Great work, Dickie. I thought this would be a kewl model to have rototyped or prototyped..(term escapes me but you understand I am sure)...and make a mold from it and cast it in metal and then chrome plated for one kewl looking hood ornament for a vehicle....very aerodynamic looking for sure....
thnx for sharing another goody,
Ron
