View Full Version : Exporting only a Star?
Hi folks, I am attempting to export an obj file to C4D and when I open it up in C4D I am getting the star and not my model... What pray tell am I doing wrong?
My guess is that you are using the polymesh3D tool for exporting. It is only to be used when importing. You should export using the button that sits in your object's Inventory section. Does that work?
the only time the export feature comes up is when I have chosen the Star shaped tool you have mentioned... then a import and export option appear, but alas, when you choose the star, my model is thus merged... haha... I know there is something I am missing here... just don't quite know how to do things just yet is all... :D any suggestions?
Ha ha, nevermind all, I have figured it out... make unified skin, then choose that copy in the tools and voila... export options... so very cool... yup, this app may take some getting used to, and some questions answered, but wowsers... power to burn :D I am so stoked... :D

Yeah I forgot, all 3D tools have the export option...except Zspheres. Glad you figured it out yourself.
You can also make an Adaptive skin before exporting. This will give a lower polygon count than unified skinning. It all depends on your needs. :)
