View Full Version : Pirate Wip, and questions about Texture Master.
I***8217;ve been having some problems on texturing, though I press the material button in texture master, material details are not saved only colour, is this how it is supposed to be. The pirate head, each time I have saved it as a ZTool with skin texture, it opens next time shiny, I then have to repaint it with the material skin texture again. I also have to keep repainting colour detail after using pick in texture master, some of the detail colour goes. Am I doing something wrong, more than once the pirate head has nearly ended up in the recycle bin, it***8217;s been taking me so long. Most of the present paintwork has been done after conversion to pixols.

Wow,looks like this guy had a long hard odyssey.Cool picture.
I'm only just starting to figure out texture master. I'm a slow learner have looked at chapter 3 now about a dozen times and still can't do it. ~L~ but as for the texture, if you bring up the texture and save it separatly it should work. Or do the fill layer and grab it. I'm sure one of the other experts will give much clearer advice.

I'm only taking a guess at your problems.
If your colours are smearing then the main culprit is likely to be a texture map that is too low res. Zbrushes defaults are way too low for detailed work. Depending on the shape of the object, I've gone as high as 3000x3000(although this was for a full body humanoid). Once you've finished a high res texture you can scale it down depending on the output requirements.
As to the material problem have you selected the pick material button on texturemaster?
Good Luck
John
Thanks for the comments and suggestions,I'll try the resolution John, and yes I do use the material button.

Very well done image--It has the flavor of antiquity --But the poor guy is so battered--it hurts to look at him--but the skin textures and hat and expression and total feel of the work is A-1 -- :D :tu: :tu: :tu:
Thanks for the comments Robo,he is a bit battered, his polygons have definitely gone awry.
