Thanks a lot for the answer, I havent tried it yet but I hope it will work. I spent lots of time trying to figure this out because in the modeling samples, the object is painted, rotated, and more details are added. Thanks again and if I have any more questions Ill ask.

The reason that it is done like you are referring to is that the TextureMaster script is being used. You can download it from the QuickLinks or from the Pixologic ZScript library.

The TextureMaster doesn't break the rules. It simply automates the process of placing a marker, snapshotting, letting you paint, reactivating the marker, using 3D copy, clearing the canvas, then reactivating the marker again (I probably missed a step or two in the process, too!). Obviously, it's a whole lot easier! But the bottom line is that it allows you to paint on an object using other tools and then transfer that work onto your object's texture.

Use the TextureMaster for texturing an object. Use the method in my first post to permanently place an object and then paint it from that angle, only. The difference between the two is that with the TextureMaster you will be able to texture all angles of the object but the texture will be 2D on the surface of the object. The other way of doing things only allows you to work from one angle, but it also allows you to render the 2.5D image. Use the TextureMaster if you plan to export your model or if you plan to use it from several different angles in your scene. Use the "traditional" method if you're doing a one-shot project.
