View Full Version : Question
Can anyone tell me what causes this? Did I over divide? It's getting rougher every time I hit smooth. What are those little plus signs in the mesh? that's where the bumps seem to be.
I know, hard to believe I've been using Z for this long.

I don't think you can divide a single poly like that.. Is this imported?
No it's a zsphere model. Just a goofy thing.

You should find the answer to what's happening in this thread (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=4&t=000443).
Also, it is usually a good idea to do a Smooth deformation after dividing the mesh. This eliminates bumps such as you're showing.
I always smooth after dividing, just never had this show up before. Thanks, Aurick. I'll check the thread.

Matthew I am no expert on the inner workings of ZB...I reserve that speciality for Pixolator...but what Deb is showing in that picture really doesn't look like the problem discussed in the thread you posted. If you look closely you will see every one of those little subdivided "plus" areas correspond to the bumps in the second picture. This would indicate to me that select polys have somehow been subdivided....not sure if it is supposed to happen that way...but I have never seen anything like that happen in my models before. Maybe Pixolator can explain this phenomenon?
