I've been workin away on a new model/image.
The texture is the infamous ham texture, with the hue altered a touch to the green side. Still considering what details to add, and how to go about it.

The Ham texture--on the green side---hmm--could it be the green eggs and ham texture??? --no...OK well it sure is a good sculpture --maybe another for the halloween gallery ??--

wont it be fun when the aliens do finally arrive for us to see who was closest to predicting their actual "look" --this one might be the guy from the planet 'Muddlon'

This one reminds me a bit of the aliens from "V". I hope he's a lot friendlier to humans!

It looks like he's coming along very well. I think it's very interesting to see how parts of your creature are symmetrical, and parts are just a little bit off of that. It probably adds a bit to the naturalness of the image.

Thanks for the encouragement. nikko, a background will be included in the final render - that's something I haven't even attempted to play with as yet. If you have some pointers and or ideas, please share them
Hey aurick, I remember those aliens from "V." Interesting how things stick with us for so many years, to surface from time to time.

very strange... and very well modelled! :D the infamous texture :D fits wonderful. what kind of ham was that? imported from beyond the center of the galaxy? cant wait to see what improvements are done when you decide it to be finished (it might stand as it is, imho). muy bien, filament!
