I had originally intended to use this for my traffic light pic, but realized I was recording it halfway through, so I saved the ZScript since I thought it might be a useful reference for the people here. Unfortunately, I believe this will only work with the full version and not the demo version, since I resized the canvas to 900 x 900. The script pauses for a minute or two for some reason just before the 3Dcopy is done on the sphere, so be patient...it will finish.
You'll notice also, that I got stuck for a few seconds because I had set my draw size too small for any color to show up on the disk at first.

first of all ill like to say the out come of that eye came out looking good.
ok just a few ? i want to ask maybe you had a reason why you made the eye the way you did.
just wondering why you used the marker tool half way threw it im not 100 sure but it looked like you used it..
ok why didn't you start out with a 3d sphere from the begining instead of the 3d circle?
and at the end it look like you added jelly bean giving it that glossy look when you could of used toy plastic for the glossy look..
like i said just asking im not knocking it at all but try 3d sphere with toy plastic material..
came out great though :tu:
Winged One, this method is brilliant. Probably the best one to date. It really gives the feeling of light refracting through the lens, and it's not too complicated. Thanks!

The Marker was used when using 3d copy and I used a disc to start out with, because I was going to try something in Adobe Photoshop using a flat texture, but it didn't work out. The white of the eyeball is toyplastic, while the iris is jellybean to give it that refractive lens look.
have you tryed the ZAcademy Compile PDF eye tut?
it has different ways of doing it i think like 3 or 4 ways
I think it looks great. Nice to learn different ways of doing things. I think this one actually has more depth than some. ~s~
