Dear Artists,
I need help in doing canals within half transparent object. How can I make those canals seen? So that those could be easily bent inside the lucent material, like with
snake brush.
Regads,
Anatoly.
Transparency is a material setting available to you in the Material:Modifiers menu. The higher the value, the more transparent the material will be in your render.
However, two other things must be done for transparency to work. First, you must turn Flatten Layers Off in the Render palette (it's the large button that's turned on by default). This allows ZBrush to render each layer separately. Second, your transparent objects must be on a separate layer from the rest of your scene.
Another approach that can yield really awesome results is found here (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=000142).
Finally, if you go to the QuickLinks (there is a link to this section in the top right of every single page here at ZBC), you will find an entire category on Transparency. In addition, you can run a search of the page (Ctrl+F, if you're on a PC) to turn up around 20 more threads. The QuickLinks are a great place to go to get answers to tons of questions right away without having to wait for someone to answer.
Happy ZBrushing!
