Hello all...

Gotta question.

As I toy with the demo and ponder buying ZBrush, there is a bit of oddity I need a little nudge in overcoming.

Scale and move... after I create the initial sphere, I, of course, enter transform and modify as anyone else would. But I find when I try to scale and move to start getting things into place, it doesn't quite behave they way I think it should... the whole thing scales and the whole thing moves... not just the sphere I have selected.

If this is the way it works, then I'll have to find a way to get used to it... but if I'm doing something wrong, then what would it be?

Not to demean or anything like that....

1. there are two different spheres with zbrush. 3d sphere and the Zshpere.

Now if you are using the zsphere and the joints making the zsphere structures are the parent and all the grey spheres in between are the children spheres. If you Select the parent zsphere let's say the elbow joint of an arm, then you can scale that sphere larger or smaller but it affects the children next to it. Now what you can do is, like on an elbow or finger, put a parent sphere next to the original and scale that way without affecting the children spheres. I am probably confusing you more....hopefully not...

Now if you are modeling with a regular 3d sphere, the whole model scales since it is one piece.

Zspheres take a little getting used to but once you play around a bit more and see how they affect each other you will love them.

hope this helped a little.

Ron

Thanks, Ron...

Not demeaning at all...

As it turns out, I had the draw size too large and the, for lack of better words, 'sphere of influence' was 'influencing' everything on the work area.

Adjusting the draw size down took care of it.

Like Ron said, or maybe you're trying to do something else. A screenshot would be handy.
