View Full Version : The Coming Storm
Playing around with tools, and also trying a limited amout of layering I came up with this image which I thought I would share. http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads/user_image-1011052179fem.jpg

i like it. very simple. a few more leaves wouldn't be out of place though. i really like the painted skies and stuff that can be done on Zbrush. keep it commin.

thanks for sharing deevee.. it looks great.. i like the blending of colors..
To the guys who do painting for a living, what did I do wrong in this image ? something is missing but I cannot put my hands on it. If some one can, please E-Mail me.
I've been looking at this for a while...thinking about your concerns.
((I completely missed this post, had you not emailed me, I think I would have walked right over it!))
Here's my 2 cents.
1) I LOVE the leaves...MORE MOREMORE framing the lower 1/3 of the picture in such a way as to suggest looking over and past..
2) I believe what is bothering you is the "values" of colors between the water and the sky. If you cut the picture in half (north and south) at the water line you will see that the colors do not correspond as you had intended. The skies pinks do not reflect or uphold the oranges on the water.
I believe it is number 2 that is bugging you.
Or is it me emailing...HAHAHAHHAA! :D :tu:

Sorry it took so long, DeeVee, but here's my take...
I think that your colours are a little too saturated, and you've also chosen near complementaries...These are great for creating contrasts but will destroy the unity of a composition... :)
Hope this helps...
Thanks SC and Kat. I knew something was just not right , but I could not put my finger on it. I agree, with what you both have to say, and it is appreciated much more than you will ever know.
