Hi guys.. I don't think I've ever posted a Zbrush model before, so go easy on me :)
In fact I can only recall posting one thing previous to this in my whole life.
Anyways, enough of the history, this is something I started today in Max (from the cube) and continued in brush..
Like the title says, its WIP, so any constructive comments are most welcome. The head is next, and then on to the accesories.

so.. here is the head.. so far.. spent considerably less time getting this right, so I won´t be offended by harsh critiques for this one.. but its somethig rather than nothing

I like the character very much. I can imagine some kind of leopard spotted frog skin on it. How will you go about webbing the toes and fingers?
WOW. I really really like the concept. I am sure the textured version will be amazing.

Thanks for the comments :D
Beast top_23_07.jpg Beast with Eye_23_07.jpg I had an idea he could ride some sort of a beast.. This is what I came up with..
I think, in hine-sight (spelling?) that his back legs aro too short in proportion to his front legs.. ooops...
Anyways, here is the preview

Hi Zbrush community :)
Have to be real quick about this, cause the wife expects me home!
But here is my latest addition to my acqua guy.. (don't know why I call him that..)
Its the fourth itteration of a head for the body..
Please do give me a hint of what to do with him to bring him to the next level if you wish. I am all ears!
Anyways..
here it is (sorry for the crappy render, but I was a bit rushed)

Very good (specially the second image), but you need to change the mats and lights, and put a good texture, oa, i forget : near the nose there are a "cut" or something similar, does´t looks good.
Keep posting :tu:

Really good stuff! Love both the head and body, but one thing is bothering me. The two calves per leg doesn't look right to me. I'd get rid of the lower one...

Hey Mr. Learner, you're absolutelly right.. the second set of calfs does look a bit off. I'll get rid of them as soon as I get back to the body!
Thanks for the comments guys :)

Didn't check my post there. It was supposed to say that I totally agreed with Mr. Learner, and that I would take away the lower calfs as soon as I get a chance... But somehow it got lost in translation.. :D
Anyways ;) thanks

I put some textures to my guys body. I'm not sure. In a way I'm happy with them, but something still seems to be amiss... you tell me (if you care to)
vannMann_m_textures.jpg
And by the way.. the material and render is a bit dodgy.. so pay no attention those factors .. if you can.

I did try to loose one set of calfs, but Zbrush seemed to think otherwise.. Spent a good 5 minutes trying to smooth it out.. no luck.. so they'll just have to stay for now

hi blomstergutt, looks good man. would like to see some close ups of the textures...
and you think you could change your text color in posts to somtehing that contrasts better to the background than blue, it's hard to read on my screen :)

I saw that someone else had the same issue that I did with the thumbnails. So I'm sorry to re-post the same image twice, but I want to see if I can do this as well. It has always worked in the past, so I can't see why it shouldn't work now.

I'll give it one more shot before I give it up and let sleeping dogs lie.

ok. never mind then.. I'll just take the thumbnails.
I've only posted images a couple of times and had exactly the same problem. I can only upload the thumbnail. Despite clicking the include image in post button it doesn't seem to work for me.
If anyone knows what we're doing wrong I'd dearly like to know.
By the way, great model and render! :tu: :tu: :tu:

it's possible I reckon that new or new users aren't allowed to post photos directly into the posts right away. Having thumbnails would allow you to still post your stuff but it wouldn't show up in the bottom row...as before it would show up there but then the link would be broken until they could look at it and determine it wasn't a spammer or something.......now you can post for thumbnail. I reckon after posting a few times....not sure how they work it out you'll be able to post into the thread itself.
so be patient!!
love your aquaman by the way...turned out real good.
Really cool stuff ! For the skin texture, did you make your own alpha brush ?
Thanks

Thanks for the comments guys :D Much appreciated.
I do make my own alphas, but they are only manipulated photos. Sometimes I paint in manually (in the projection seams most often).
Thanks ;)
Hey Mike,
Didn't realise this was ur post ;)
I can see why a 'sculpey break' is needed lol
Just wanted to say that i really like your model and most of all the textures :tu: ;) They are just great... don't know what else to say
Keep up the great works Mate! :tu:
Cheers,
Kev
