Pixolator, Aurick (or anyone interested!!),

I've been reading back and forth between posts here and at Spiraloid forum about creating maps to use highpoly detail on lowpoly models, and from what I gather a lot of work and coding is being done to do what sounds to me like Zbrush's future "displacement map" feature.

I was hoping you could shed some more light on what I've been reading. Am I right? Will the displacement map feature be providing the sort of highpoly detail on lowpoly models that these threads have been discussing? Will displacement maps be easily exported (as bmp or photoshop doc) so that they can be used in other programs? Will they retain the UV mappings of models imported into Zbrush?

Many thanks for you help.

See here (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=010822), and here (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=008428), the next version of ZBrush (which will be a free upgrade to all registered users of the current version) will have such high-res mesh and displacment features. These features are extremely powerful, and will suit practically any need -- in the use of creating ZBrush images or to be exported and used in other apps.

More details will be released in the future, as we are able to.
