Just a question

What programs to you prefer to complete your 3d scenes in? Zbrush or another external program, and why complete your scenes in that program instead of zbrush??

And why

(You know, why use Maya, for example instead of completing your final scene in zbrush?)

This is not a pointless thread either; I would love your responses,

And I will enjoy reading the responses

(Don’t be insulted when I don’t reply if any of you ask me something, because I have exams and will get back to this thread in about a week)

Thank you in advance if you can contribute

you can use you preferred software, i had tried zbrush with maya, cinema, lightwave and usually i use it with lightwave where i am more confortable and faster.

usually you can need to use external 3d app to use model in animation, or you can do all thing in zbrush.

Well i havnt actually made anything with zbrush yet (dont know how to make full humans yet which look even remotly decent...almost to the warrior in the pract guide though, yay!)

Any way.... i think i'd be using a combination of things... make the mesh/skin/etc in ZBrush, then move it to Poser for posing and what not... then move it to Bryce for the final scene (if i'm blending landscape for the background). Then Photoshop for touchup post work as needed.

Never used Maya, Lightwave, and all these other things people talk about.... how are they exactly?

They are the "Norm" in computers Graphics with 3D Max... :)
But now all need Zbrush for refine model in millions of Polygones :D
They don't kow make that so easily

You may have problens importing high poly meshes into these apps as they don't support imported displacement, but it does depend on your ZB meshes...

I usually finish in ZB & Photoshop for 2.5D & XSI for 3D...:tu:

Well, I'm only just getting the feel of ZBrush, but my intention is to export meshes into MojoWorld and Bryce. I have lofted a couple of objects and thrown them into both apps and they render just fine, although, in the case of Mojoworld, I create a material from scratch to skin it.

And then I should add that I'm a long-time Painter user, and it's a great app for creating textures and alpha maps with which to feed ZBrush.
