View Full Version : Help Using Scipts together
This is probably going to sound pretty stupid, but I really can't get it to work.
I downloaded the extra materials ZScript and I can open it fine, the problem is I want to use the materials in conjunction with TextureMAster.
If I load the Texture Master script the materials script dissappears again. If I DROP my object onto the canvas and then load the materials script to use the materials, then when i load TextureMaster again it is waiting for a new shape to drop?
How can I set it up that I can use the ZMaterials and Zlists and things at the same time as Texture Master?
I can't seem to figure it out at all :(
Thanks.
Hi,
i have tried this:
1) copy Zlist files, MaterialPack files and TM files in a empty directory (ALL files).
2) open the TM script with an editor, go end of file and write [PD] statement.
3) open MaterialPack script, go end of file and write [PD] statement, now copy and past
4) open ZList script go end of file and write [PD] statement, now copy and past
5) save the new script.
It works, but....the new release of these scripts comes without TXT (only ZSC :( )
I have not tried to merge ZSC ;)

Ohh Thanks :)
You mean Zbrush doesn't let you run them together by default??
That seems a bit strange isn't it? Whats the point in having mAterialsList and Zlists then if you cant use them in while using another script?
I thought that was the whole point of them? If you have to unload what you are doing to load the Zlist then it sort of defeats the purpose doesn't it?
Well, not complaining Zbrush is great tool. Just seems a little odd to have these things and not be able to use them along with what you are doing.
OK now I am very confused lol
Everytime I want to use the new materials in the material pack I have to open it up and change over the ones in the default?
I just chnaged them all over to ones I liked better then loaded texture Master to do some texturing with them and it resets the default palette materials again :(
that measn I cant use the new materials in texturemaster then? I cant seem to see away of doing it?

well, i aint using texturemaster often, but i just gave it a try in combination with material pack and didnt encounter any problems: just dont stay in drop-mode. pick object is just a g-click away, the materialpackscript just a left or right arrow-click, leaving edit-mode a t-click, loading the wanted material from materialpack into an unused slot might take a few clicks depending for which one you go, reselecting the tools original material one more, left or right arrow to go into texturemastermode again, t, g - thats it :)
of course the much better/comfortable way would be to make the choice of materials in advance and load them into materials palette slots before starting texturing - no switching of scripts needed at all :D

:b4: edit - as we seem to have typed at almost the same time: be sure to have mrgb selected in the draw menu while in tm-drop-mode :) and to do shift+g picks to get shaded material effects. anyhow i assume its time for me to drop out of here, i am a tm-illiterate :)

Jaundel, thanks for the tips. :)
But eh, I am a real newcomer to Zbrush I ehh I dont have a clue what anything you aid there means lol :)
Sorry, but whats all this t-click, g-click and things? Its probably really simple but I have only been using Zbrush a day lol
Thanks for helping though.
Could you explain what all that means?

it was shortcut-lingo, Savant :D
hitting the G-key while in texturemaster either drops or picks the object, right?
the t-key either puts a 3d-object into edit mode or out of it, no matter whether in texturemaster or not.
arrow keys: lets say, you have loaded the texturemasterscript first and materialpack afterwards: hitting the leftarrow-key will bring you from materialpack to texturemaster ("previous script"), the rightarrow-key from texturemaster to materialpack ("next script").
does this make more sense? i hope so for sure! (but doubt it :D)
i remember that i have had a little difficulty to understand the concept of loading materials when a newbie to z-brush. in case you have problems re: materials yourself, you might want to check out the relating threads in the QuickLinks (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=2&t=000049) - section "Materials". the first one there is the one in which Pixolator presented MaterialPack (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=003203) :D

The key really is simply to always Pick your model back up again before leaving TextureMaster.
This means that if you're texturing and decide that you want to use something from the MaterialPack or ZList, simply press TextureMaster>Pick, load the new script and whatever you want from it, return to TextureMaster, and press TextureMaster>Drop again. You'll now be right where you left off.
Cameyo's suggestion will not work. TextureMaster revision G is only available in .ZSC format, which means that it cannot be edited.

how funny...just last night I was thinking that someone should write a script that allows you to utilize multiple scripts at once...maybe an Advanced Zscript Sub-Menu in the ZScripts palette....would supercharge ZB a bit it this respect. See, I could use TM,Materials Pack, and a custom brush script all at once. At least a button to append scripts to one another, psd files and all. Would be cool. Just one of a BOOK of IDEAS I have for ZB...
*pout*
Ok Thanks. I understand what you mean now.
I was trying to do it with the model on the canavs as well which didnt help :P
Thansk :)

Is what i said! :D The new ZSC format don't allow this...but i have tried with Rev.F and the old zscript ;) ;)
This is another problem of ZSC format.
