Hi,
Just a single 'blob' tool, made from a sphere, masked and inflated, then the rest is just painted in 2.5D.
Hope that helps!!

Hi All,
Thanks for all your positive comments, which have made me have another doodle, will post soon.
The light is just a simple, single light and the material is a slightly modified skin, which was shared in the Leonardo thread.
Thanks again

Hi,
I think I've done this to death now, time to move on.....blobs3.jpg
To get the shadows place a flat plane on the canvas and make sure you have shadows turned on in the render menu.

If you give us this shader and lights, we could help out to explore more about this and get further.......
I really love the feeling and look of those renders!!!

Matt,
All the renders are in ZBrush, the last one used Pixolators Dino material from this thread http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/showthread.php?t=13928 (http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/showthread.php?t=13928), if you download the sample file, I think this will help you. Perhaps the only thing different fromt his is that I have unchecked the Zmode shadows in the shadow menu of the light settings.
Thanks to everyone that has shared to get me this far, its the sharing in these forums that really make ZBrush such a great product!.
I hope this helps but I'm happy to come down to MPC, for a coffee if you need any further help;)

I dont know you, you dont know me. I dont want to publish my name on here because like a lot of people on here I should be working.
Your company name is in your public profile, and it was a genuine offer if you wanted any further help as I spend a lot of time in London. Sorry to be so over friendly when we dont even know each other.
Just forget it now. :o Peace offer accepted:D

I downloaded pixolators sample scene, just as the doc prescribed and made a plane as background and stuffed some geometry on it using pixolators dino shader. Here is my 2 minute effort:
doodle.jpg (http://javascript%3Cb%3E%3C/b%3E:zb_insimg%28%2711836%27,%27doodle.jpg%27,1,0% 29)
THANKS a lot for sharing this. Nice effect!
LemonNado
PS:That shader really get's my ZB into heavy thoughts during rendering.... Takes time for a change.
PPS:Lighting.... out of the box. I didn't even look at the settings.

hi gooner....
it looks like you keep the masking on for your images....if ya do let us know....i think tio-matt isn't going to get the same results if he only uses your mats and lights.
hi to your daughter.
The Gooner
05-19-05, 11:43 PM
oops,
Yes the mask is kept on, and your right the results dont look the same without it.
blob_sample.jpg
But I expect you could acheive the same results by texturing.
So again I apologise for not explaining fully, I was not expecting this sort of interest from this doodle:o . If I post again a full explanation will be included in the first post!

hey Gooner,
Thanks for the reply!
and don't worry about it one bit....one impatient person who fails to read and do their own homework is not a common thing. I think you went well above and beyond what you needed to by posting the mat and lights for which you already gave the info on......which is cool....you showed more patience than me and proved that the spirit of zbc lives on...kudos to you.:tu:
have fun experimenting!!!

Aren't we all impatient some times :D:D:D... Btw.... any update about the new release??
LOL
Ok... seriously... sort of:
I inversed the mask, color picked the original color, darkened it, projection master'd the object and applied the darker color.
I think it works also that way!
Cheers

Hi Gooner,
Add my name to the list. I Like the look and feel of your squeeze-toy-type objects.
A tip:
As you know, you can turn your alpha into a texture which can then be applied with perfect registration to the features on your object... but you can take it another step that lets you tint the grayscale.
The Gradient Colorize button in the Texture Menu does it in two steps. Apply your converted alpha texture (or any other texture) and select the two colors (to substitute for Black and White). Then press the Grad button.
The Main color replaces white and the Secondary color replaces black. The intermediate grays become a gradient between the two.
The Link below discusses other ways the Texture/Grad button can be used...
Gradient Tips by Aurick (http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/showthread.php?t=1069)
Looking forward to more of your work.

Hi
Svengali, Aminuts, Lemmonado, Dutchman, abcd1234 - Thanks for all your positive replies. Haven't had a chance to play around with 'Z' for a few days, but now I'm back at 'work', should be able to find time to try out your ideas, thanks Svengali.
