Beatiful! :)
It's wonderful to see artists like you creating landscapes, not using bryce presets or something...
You have created a wonderful peice of land and water!

The water is what especially blows me away. Very, very realistic. It has just the right reflectivity and noise in just the right places.

The island is really interesting to look at, too. You've done a lot of texturing on it, and it's very effective.

:tu: Great work! :tu:

To echo what Aurick said, the water is amazing, particularly on the left side. The lighting is also very fine, not washing out the tones, and the steely grey on the left in the water indicates the sky conditions...
Very nice! :tu: :tu: :tu:
I might suggest playing with the noise a bit in the landmass material...

Stargo, your techniques have really raised your image making to an amazing level. This does indeed have the look of an old masters painting. I can't imagine what you would change here, but I look forward to what you do :tu:

Hi :)
Stargo: This is a beautiful image!
Here are some items that you may find helpful in increasing the realism of this image…

Below is a small portion of an image that contains the three items mentioned below…
More info about the image and valuable tips (121) by ZBC members can be seen in this thread (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=001007)

1. Water-to-rock intersection line usually results in sharp unnatural border between these surfaces. You can ‘soften’ this line by simply drawing over it with a SimpeBrush with only ZADD on.
2. Apply different material to the rock surfaces that are closer to the water-line as these will normally be wet as opposed to the dry rock surface. This is done by saving the rock material and reloading it into unused material slot, modify the material properties to have higher specular level and apply it to rock surface near and above the water line.
3. The rock surface should be both, partially visible below the water-line as well as being reflected by the water. Assuming that you have the water surface in a different layer than the rock surface, you can simply activate the material transparency and environment reflections or you may use the method described in this tutorial (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=000142).

Hope this helps :)

Awsome!! :tu: The water is especially good. Also, on the rock in addition to the noise that other people suggested, try raising the color bump values a trifle as well.

This looks great Stargo!
Textures and setup is extra fine.
Some foliage would be cool (I suspect you intend to add some?) on the far shore.
Water and rocks are excellento!

Very good work Stargo. I can imagine the type of work you will be doing when you really learn the program. For Pix to compliment you means that you are well on your way. Congratulations, follow his advice and you cannot go wrong.

Hey Stargo, very nice image - the feel of the rock extending below the surface is quite effective as is the reflections on the surface. :tu:
