Hi MtB
Sun visible in the cave ! :D
Maybe just add some "grain" to stalactites and stalagmites :)
And some bats

Like Rhom says this a very convincing image. The only thing that throws me off is the yellow sphere in the cave. What is it suppose to be? If it's a whole then you should make it more irregular. If it's something in the middel of the cave I kind of expect it to radiate more light. Overall a very nice image.

Nice looking cave Mike! The tunnel in the background gives it depth. Am I correct in assuming this is the background for Macabre Within II ?

Yes Sir it is! ;) Thank you. Thanks everyone for the comments.
Okay, some info. The glowing sphere is just a visual cue. I plan on having a torch or something glowing (septor/sword..dont know yet) in my cave and was experimenting with the point and glow lights. The only sun light is the dark blue lighting. The rest is glow, and point. The lighting in the background is to give it a sense of being inhabited I guess.
*EDIT*
Here is another test with ZMode shadow and the dragon. Also made a softer looking rock. None of the materials or placement are final anyway, the final will be much wider and @ about 3600 by 2400 or there abouts.

very life like.. even the light is placed just right.. awesome image..
Coming along very well, Mahlikus. :D
With final retouching the last one could also make a complete image. I like how you structured yourself out. :tu:
Looking good. Can you show how, or explain, how you got the floor and cieling connected? Like what you used to make the cave itself.

Thank you guys! :D
Well RazorX, I haven't put together the supporting images for the cave construction yet but I will give some info on it right now. The two tunnels where made from a cylinder tool. To fake their depth, I used a combination of tapering the tunnels and fog. They actually don't go back as far as they look (due to the tenacious clipping plane..lol). Both of them join just behind that center pillar so no worries in making them match up. The ground is made using the same method as pixolator's Alpha Centuary ZScript of the default ZScripts that come with ZBrush. This deformed plane was placed to the left, snapshot, moved to the right, rotated, and snapshot again. These two also joined behind that center pillar. ;)
As for the pillars, this was made using ZSpheres (low-poly adaptive). One last note, everything has a touch of noise and inflate from the deformations palette while in edit mode plus, every once and a while I would model with noise by adjusting the Transform ::Modifier ::Noise slider just a hair and then before placement, some smooth to taste.
This will all be a part of the Renderosity tutorial though which month is still beyond me. I will let everyone know more as soon as I get more info.
Thanks again everyone.
pretty cool cave mahlikus :tu: :tu:

Funnily enough, I was practicisng a similar image in Vue a couple of nights ago using a pair of terrains, one inverted, plus a third vertical one for the back wall. Nowhere near as convincing as this so far though. Good work. Thanks for the tips on how it was done. :tu: :tu:
Well done Mike! I really appreciate the tips also... thanks for sharing.
Joe.

Michael,
Great cave and a very cool dragon... I like the illusion of depth you have acquired in this piece. Keep up the great work!
Best regards,
Michael
