hey !!! what a great sculpture !!
you have improved your technique every time I see your works !!!
great stuff, man  :tu:
thx drummer :D
it's about two days i'm going deep in zbrush, i think my models aren't so good yet

have you never try to use any zspheres?
they are good to model and you have the same low poly result as you model in XSI.......now I model almost always with zspheres, then, after I've adjusted my geometry, I export in XSI the low poly to pose it with a skeleton....
anyway I didn't have any good result with the displacement....maybe I am the only one
it is true I have tried few times to do a good displacement, but I'm still not able to use your AP.....maybe I didn't understand how to use it .
i prefer to create the base model not in zbrush becouse of its polygons topology; zbrush is faster, not better; is the best to make certain things, others must be done in other applications i think.
anyway the video will be on the web this monday :D
i
nice model :)
The neck have cool details.
I think the mounth is a littlebit high.
i detailed him a second time couse i want work on face and horns as separate objects, this is the result:

I really like it but I think tha the lines on the lips are few deep and too close together......I think you have to sculpt lines more deep and few close.
Anyway this really is a great sculpture !!

 :tu:
yes the lines on the mouth seem to be similar, i have to make them another time, i also would change the alpha used for the skin, now it seems a reptile-alpha, i don't like it so much
i think this is really better than the others! what u do u think? plz critwip4.jpg

very detailed.
i kinda liked the reptile skin under in the neck area.
excellent:tu:
i'm making some render experiments in xsi now; ii mean to model a skull helm...dunno when, but i'll do it :)
ok, that's it! daemone.jpg

Great work, nice details, and overall character. :tu:
Out of curiosity, is this made from the base head that comes with XSI? I'm just wondering, cause there's a script for 3ds max that makes something very similar, and I've used it before. I'm wondering how many artists use something like that, and what people's feelings are about it.
hi bruno, nice work, it's impressive!

first thx to all :D
which script are u talking about? i dunno it; anyway, yes, it's modelled on that base mesh done in xsi

Well, the script I was talking about is for Max, it makes a head model very similar to the base model in XSI. I've used that script for Max a few times, and I was just wondering how you feel about using that particular head mesh. Do you run across problem areas? Do you need to change the topology at all? How do you feel about the uv's?

well, i simply export the base mesh from xsi to zbruh, and then the detailed one back to xsi with no topology problem; the UVs are done in xsi; i prefer to map the model "by hand" so i can paint on it later in photoshop

Great model and beautiful render.

Ok, that's what I thought. I just felt it would be looked down on for using a base mesh like that. But hey, if you can get results like this, I don't see the problem.
It is some awesome work. :tu:
dunno if this is better, but this is a zbrush render (with some post production in photoshop); what do u think?

That's pretty killer. I really like the details in the neck. He's got some human qualities (the face), but he's obviously a demon. It's almost hard to tell whether you could trust the guy or not.
I like the eyes in your other render a little better. They stood out more. But it's hard to complain about either render. They're both fantastic.
hmmm thx for comment but this work doesn't convince me yet

I agree with Replica about the eyes...you are getting there on the convincing though.....starting to come alive most definitely with each post. mmore more more....enjoying all the updates.

Yeaaaahhh, that's looking nice. Those textures are sweet by the way, did you do those in ZB, or photoshop?
all textures in zbrush (great for this purpose); just a bit of photoshop post production...but not so much

Oh, that's something I have a lot of trouble with. I just can't seem to get the subtle bits of detail using ZB for textures. How do you get such great color variation in the skin tone?
well, it's rendered in xsi with three point lighting; i used a red light for the key, a cyan light for fill and white for backlight; anyway i had lot of problems in texturing with zbrush, but i think i fixed them; u can get nice detailed textures if u paint on your model piece for piece, not the whole model, just a little part of it and so on; make sure u don't paint on borders when u are in projection master with "double sided" checked

Ah, I always go for texturing the whole thing at once. Now that I think about it, it does tend to distract me, and I end up putting color over the entire model at once, and not really concentrating on details. Thanks, I'll remember that. :D
Now if I could light worth a darn... :p
hi all! i didn't want to opne a thread for this, anyway there's one of my work made with xsi, zbrush and photoshop that is currently on www.softimage.com (http://www.softimage.com) for gallery contest :D
