I like this style alot, reminds me of when you used to cut into a piece of vinyal and make a printing stamp, where you have the layered type effect.
I also agree with jotajota that it looks like lots of card cutouts staggered into a 3D type montage or what ever you call em.

The second image has the same feel, but is more 3D and not so flat.
I'd like to see some other designs like this,
