Hey Pilou,
That is a good question. First of all, Bryce uses real raytracing and before I acquired Zbrush, I used to use Bryce mainly as my rendering engine. You can see hundreds of my Bryce works here:

With this image I wanted to show some of my old friends(mostly Bryce users) how Zbrush can go hand in hand with their program.
Also, by using volumetric lighting in Bryce I was able to create the murky looking water and the caustic effect of light coming through the waters surface with relative ease.
I will try an underwater scene in Zbrush one of these days though, I promise! ;~)
