View Full Version : a weekend with zbrush
this was the third weekend in a row that I've been able to play around with zbrush, this time I brought a base mesh to start from, and I feel I'm starting to get a hang of the program, don't mind the clothes as they were just quickly added because I'm tired of my models being nude and bald ;) still it was fun to see how easily I could conform a very lowpoly base mesh to something that looks somewhat like cloth.
unfortunately time runs fast when having fun and I didn't have time to finish off the ears, nor play around with wrinkles and stuff, maybe next time.
oh, and the render/light setup is the one Rimasson so kindly uploaded here at zbrush central :tu:

This will be nice! Can you tell more about how you add these clothes? Multimarker?

Sweet model....definitely time well spent.
Stumpf, I think would be proud to have you as
president....your lines seem as clean as his....very
hard thing to accomplish.
I hope you take her all the way...would really like to see
her as a finished product!!
thanks for the comments guys, much appreciated. Baz, the clothes and cap were separate items but I exported them together with the body as a single mesh from wings3d, I wish I had a clue as to how multimarkers work though. I likely won't work more on this for a while, as I'm currently modeling on a Stumpf-inspired stylised character to play around with this coming weekend, but I have this test render that I did using (again) Rimassons great scene and material, all I did was paint around a bit in projectionmaster and clicked render, pretty boring for you veteran zbrushers though since I haven't gotten around to adding all that small detail that really sets zbrush stuff apart.

this is really impressive, i agree with jantim; it's an extremely elegant model. thumbs up!
Hi Zork,
I see you are very good modeler. The base mesh ist very clear and efficient.
Looking forward to see the process.
Thank you for the fanclub. One member is a good starting point but I think
at latest three mounth I'm the founder of the Zork fanclub.

very clean and elegant job :tu: B welcome here :D
thanks a bunch all for the nice comments, best inspiration I could wish for. make me wish I'd spent some more time detailing her instead of trying out each and every tool I could find in zbrush 2 :D
Stumpf, thanks! coming from you that means alot, the first base meshes I made where much too detailed, which sorta defies the point of using zbrush in the first place, now I'm slowly becoming better at judging how much geometry is necessary to get the detail I want from one subdivision within zbrush (which is where I do 99% of the modeling). for the next model I'll try to do a better polyflow around the neck though, since I had a hard time making it look ok on this one.
oh, and I think there are more members in your fanclub besides me!
again thanks all, and again big kudos to Rimasson for the excellent light+material he uploaded here on zbrush central :tu:
