Hi :)
Here is an image of the updated Dino Mesh (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=011114)...
<img src="http://www.zbrushcentral.com/pixo/atn.gif"> (http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/faq.php?faq=vb_read_and_post#faq_zbc_display_image s)
... and a walkcycle test-animation...
<OBJECT height=324 width=400 classid=clsid:02BF25D5-8C17-4B23-BC80-D3488ABDDC6B name="Dino Movie"> <embed height="324" name="Dino Movie" pluginspage="http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/" src="http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_pixo_images/DinoMovie2.mov" type="video/quicktime" width="400" controller="true" autoplay="true" loop="true" cache="true" scale="tofit" playeveryframe="true"> </OBJECT>
the quicktime movie is about 1 MB in size, please wait for it to load.
This animation is a test of ZSphere's ability to re-skin a ZSphere object, and to readjust previous skin-deformations to fit the size/position and orientation of a modified ZSphere pose (the skin readjustments can be seen clearly in the stretching of the Dino's shoulder area). The animation was created by a ZScript which is able to interpolate between stored key-frames of a ZSphere tool. ZSphere's pose2pose is available for the current ZBrush version (1.55b), but it has been further enhanced and augmented with new features. The immediate benefit of the capability to re-skin a posed ZSphere tool, is that it will allow you to do the modeling and texturing of the mesh in a natural, modeling-friendly symmetrical pose, and when you are satisfied with the mesh you may re-pose the ZSphere to have a dynamic, non-symmetrical pose (while being careful to not produce twists). You may further continue modeling/texturing in the new pose or -- if morph-target is stored -- restore the base-pose and continue modeling/texturing. Furthermore, any time during the modeling/texturing process, you may move ZSpheres to a new location to gain easy access to other areas of the mesh which may be blocked by these ZSpheres (such as moving the arms further away from the shoulders to gain full, unobstructed access to the chest).
If you are creating (or planning to create) ZBrush 3D models to be exported and used in your 3D animation program, then ZSphere's pose2pose will allow you to execute quick tests directly in ZBrush, stay longer within the ZBrush environment and enjoy the benefits (and comfort) of ZSpheres and ZBrush's modeling and texturing tools :)

OMG , let me get back to you when I .... euh .... *faints*

:tu: :tu: Cool, all thumbs up.
Wat can i say... i awesomely fell head over heel deep in love with this program.
Wonderfull, incredible my dreams come true!Animation system in zbrush now,and a lot of possibility with displacement mapping! But i have a question do you create a quicktime export plugin for export your scene or it's a gif convert in mov format(or export scene in another soft?)?
Really great work ofer!
it's a new time for zbrush!Zbrush goes to hollywood!!!!!
I saw your animation 13 minutes!!
:tu: :tu: :tu:
:D :D :D
;)
I really don't know what to say :) That looks brilliant. Wish I could go to Siggraph and watch the Pixologic crew demonstrate this. I can't wait to try this out myself. :tu: :tu:
Ps. Hope you have a blast at Siggraph but watch where you walk, theres bound to be a lot of dropped jaws lying around your booth :D
Pix....I can not belive this feature...I was thinking for a long time to forward this idea and now its finally here...simply a dream come true !!!
I wanted to ask what type of sknning this works with...Unified or Adaptive?...It seems that you have modelled some muscle definition with Z-spheres..evident from the shoulder deformation and elbow deformation..or am I wong??
If this is the case...how do you deal with the muscle Z-spheres interms of deformation?
- BTW is the above animation created in ZBrush??-
Thankyou once again...this new Z-script will bring brand new methods to my modelling workflow and I'm sure to others'
All the best

Kircho , I believe those muscles are spawned through the displacement mapping.
From what I geather we are able to create a Z-sphre skin - model that skin and then reatach that skin to the Zspheres for posing. What I find intruiging both in Pix's animation and still posed works is how well volume of muscle and skin is maintained....My conlusuion was that there must be more then just a simple skeleton determining the skin surface, maybe Zpheres defining major muscle systems are present between limbs...etc.
To my knowledge displacment maps will not surve this purpose ...someone please correct me if I'm wrong?!...if they were used in this way I would expect their to be considerable tweaking between poses...???
thanks
Kircho
We must just wait the free upgrade and tutorials,it's the best thing we can do,i think.Cause we don't have any idea as it works so wait and see!bye all zbrushers!

For design, testing, and eventual animation of characters, this should be a very helpful feature :)
The animation is not working for me, but it sounds utterly amazing!  :tu:
WOW! Happy dayz!!It's skin is all gooey and everything! Lovely lol
It's good to see the option of quicktime in there. Might that suggest a deal with Apple? :)
OMG! I just noticed...his eye is moving all over the place! Does that mean we have a heirarchy system that allows you to parent eyes/teeth/tongue with the body? Oh calm down Ken...all will become clear ;)

Hi
Can you loading this animation in another Site ?
Because something seems wrong on my computer : nothing is loading :(
Pilou
Hey Frenchy,
This is a Quicktime movie, so you need to have Quicktime installed. You can get it at: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/
Perhaps you already have it installed and it is still not working?
I hope you get it. It's quite a sight...

That's really impressive the way Pixolatoris pushing beyond ZBrush. I really think that this new feature can be useful even to
produce animated sprites for videogames
and web graphic.

Come on Pix, great video. Where did you shot that dino????? Jurassic Park??? With a digital camera??? You can tell me!!
This is sooo real!! This can't be fake!
Just on the question Pix raises about staying in Zbrush longer in the production line. The best way for that to happen is to have standardization. I mean, I look at that dino and think of all the work that went into the materials and animation. Bring it into another program and that's all gone. Unless that's being addressed!?!
Dam it! I just have to add...that dino is as good as any in Jurassic Park! :tu:
Wow, I went ga-ga over this sight.. Look at the shoulder muscle! That's freaking out great! I have no idea what exactly you said about the distortion(?) in the arm but it looks great!
Where and when is Siggraph?? Please someone say Toronto, Canada. :p
Pixolator, this looks greater than Jurassic Park - absolutely jaw dropping. It's perfect. Minus the rain. ;)
The detail and smooth flow is amazing..
i knew it , i knew it, when i saw your dino reposed in the other thread, there is coming something, something big... but i never would have believed that. truely amazing. oh my god, i cannot wait to get that !

This is beyond amazing. Think I am going to cry, that dino looks so beautiful. So am I to understand that this animation is from the native ZB environment. It looks amazing...like a maya render or something..WOW. Is the QT movie a direct product of ZBrush or was an animation converted outside of it?
One more question. Will this animation process be background rendered/generated?
I am also every excited at the ability to move limbs out of the way for better texturing...beautiful!!!!
Bravo pix!!!

Dangit Ofer, you never cease to amaze! This is just mind numbing... You'll have everyone switching over in no time :p. This was so good I had to plug it on 3dfestival.com and it's up on cgtalk's frontpage. You ROCK!
salud!
The changes to the upcoming version of ZBrush look amazing! My only question is, when do we hope to see the new release? From just the few things that we have been shown it would appear that the next version will be a major upgrade.
Great and exciting work! :tu:

Good God. My mind is still boggled just from going through the demos that came with the program, and now this!
I think my brain just shorted out. I'll worry about that as soon as I get my jaw pried out of the floow (it fell so hard and fast that it embedded itself in the floor).

NO WAY...............................
I've died and gone to Devon....
:)
Pix. Is it possible to explain a little more about the process at this stage?
I am eager to see the process of getting this big beastie moving in such a like like way. Having spent a few months getting to grips with Lightwaves bones and endomorphs it will be cool to put the effort into animating in ZBrush.

I am definitely loosing my touch. Under normal circumstances I would be amongst the first to comment on this posting from Pix. As I always say, you guys never fail to amaze me. what will you come up with in that well fertilized brain of yours only the great geometrician of the universe knows. Excellent, bravo, and all the other good stuff that means fantastic, awesome etc. :) :tu: to the nth. degree!!

Being the slow, unskilled newbie that I am, seeing this type of fantastic work is both inspiring and dicouraging.
I know I have a tool that can build wonderful stuff, but I keep cutting off my fingers.
Well, I guess it's back to the picnic tut. Maybe my basket will work today.
Just looking around for all the cool threads relating to the next Zbrush update...... :D
