Hi...not a gargoyle in the traditional sense of the word..more just an ugly mug I guess
the low res mesh was built in max,
I'll get him textured in ZB and hopefully animated and post some shots later
Cheers

I like it a lot!!!
I would place a 'welt' around each tooth to make it look like they protrude out of a 'gum' rather than looking 'glued' in place. There i so much nice detail that this jumped into my mind...
Looking forward to updates!

awesome!
how many polys has the final mesh?
I think the ZB sculpt was just short of 4 million, but rendered here on a 15k mesh with displacement

Good. Planning for textures??:tu:
4 millions.. incredible, really..
my computer dies when the polycount goes over 1 million already.. at least there's no more realtime sculpting possible.. i should really consider getting a new computer.
anyways, amazing work! are you going to texture him? that would make the model even better if done well

thanks for all the comments :)..I gave him a texture today:)
the colouring was made in Zb & then tweaked in Photoshop with various overlays, final render was in DAZ Studio...I'm thinking now maybe a stone texture and attaching him to a building would be cool.
..will post a small animation later
Force:..4 million is a bit sluggish but I wanted the detail so I just hide the mesh and work on small parts,I also use projection master alot
Cheers

I agree with Monster Maker, make this beauty move! The right lights and motion, this could be really unique. Great model overall.
sweet textures! this model just keeps getting better and better. :tu: :tu:

Good model, but I like more the black and white picture because the details looks better. The texturing and the choice of the materials does not make the model more attractive.

Bas..I actually agree aboout the colour texture..I wasn't as impressed as I was with just the displacement,
here's a short animation test,I've changed his eye texture aswell..after watching it I've decided to add some skin movement morphs so the skin doesn't look too static.

Good job! Two questions. Can we see the base mesh from max, and What did you use for refrence on the skin? Was it from photo or from your head?

Hi Ryan
here's the low res mesh, subdivided x1 for animation.
the texture is all freestyle,I gave it some basic colour in ZB then used an inverted version of the displacement map set to screen mixed with various colour overlays in photoshop,
still trying to figure out what to clip him onto...
