Hi,this is my first post here but I visit practically every day:)
I'd like to share a couple images of some recent ZB work
I do alot of content work in Poser & DAZ Studio & with support for displacement mapping in both apps I'm finding alot more of my models are being passed through Z-Brush for that added level of detail.
the base mesh of this fish was made in 3dmax,texturing was done in ZB,rigged in Poser and the final render is in DAZ Studio(beta)
Cheers

Hi Stefan_Morrell. Great sculpting! I love your fish and your stone pillors, any chance you could post the stone material ? It would be a great addition to the Zbrush challenge thread here, http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/showthread.php?t=24490 :D

the material on the column is all texture based though (& rendered externally)so probably wouldn't fit the material thread?
either way it's already set up as a Studio & Poser figure on my site ,there's an obj and high res textures in there,

Hey Stefan and Rawn! nice to see you guys here_ like an outing of the brokers union! Excellent stuff Stefan_ well you know I think that! Like you I come here pretty much every day_ the stuff folks are producing with ZBrush is simply awe inspiring!
Stefan if you have any tips for using displacement in P5 and DAZStudio_settings/the process etc I know it would be incredibly helpful for quite a few folks. PusGhetty did a wonderful tutorial here about original Poser figure creation in ZBrush
Hey Noggin
I used to pop into the forums here about once a month....and leave too enious of what people were doing...so its about time I learned something LOL
...and now with P6 coming, it would be good to learn this displacement mapping.
Rawn
I know that feeling Rawn! Well there you are Stefan_ there's two willing pupils sitting here waiting for any gems or insights you can send our way!

hey guys, fancy seeing you here :)
Nigel, have you got the Meats Meier DVD yet?..very impressive stuff and a ton of great tips(*not to mention an awesome extra of his models animated)
I'll be referring to that dvd alot in future
I'll try & put together a video tut on getting out of ZB & into Studio soon, this weekend I'd like to try texturing a mill figure(Daz' Viki & Mike models) as alot of people are having trouble with them.
Cheers

hi Stefan,
am curious if you are using beta of 6 of poser? cuz as I understand it you can't get true 16bit displacement in p5 so
am curious either way. and if you are using p6 already....a heads up on new stuff would be cool.
also check out in zb.....in lighting menu there are gdi, gsi slots that you can add an image to for interesting affects....specially for underwater scenes....also adding pics to fog can produces some great depth effects for underwater scenes.
great fish scene....all zb or something else?

Yes I got Meats Gnomon DVD a couple of weeks back _ I agree a really first class introduction (well more than that really_pretty comprehensive walk through!)
I look forward to seeing what you come up with on ZB /DAZ Studio link.
Cheers

here's a brief video tutorial on getting a displacement map from Z-Brush to Studio, this tut assumes you have some knowledge in creating a Z-Brush sculpt and begins at the point of creating the displacement map.
I pretty much use the default settings on export, but you might like to play with the intensity.& be sure to flip te map vertically:confused:
8mb download
Div-X codec

Right click & 'Save target as..'
Hi aminuts,
you are right in that Poser 5 doesn't have 16 bit,(though I have heard Poser 6 will)..it also has a terrible desire to smooth the hell out of a mesh...this also has been fixed in version 6...*I think*
& no..I didn't get in on the beta, too busy with the DAZ Studio beta which is what the final fish render was done in,Studio is a free rendering and animation app nearing the final version
The low poly mesh was made in max where I feel I have greater control over edge loops etc..or at least that's one area of Zb that I've yet to look into, lot's to learn in ZB:)
Cheers

Stefan_Morrell (http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/member.php?u=18415) if you don’t mind. What are you exporting the displacement map out as for studio?
Thanks

I export as .tiff,D|S reads 16 bit .tiffs.(meaning more detail).not sure about P6 yet but I've heard it does 16 bit too
sometimes I'll export as .psd if I want to add more detail in photoshop
