I feel a bit intimidated posting to this forum. I see works by Mentat7, Ztevie Rae, MTB, Southern, etc. I know many have used the program for a long time, but I also see others that seem to pick it up and run with it in a matter of days. I can't even really crawl with it yet
But, this "Old Dog" is determined to learn :)
Comments, criticisms, helpful hints are greatly appreciated.
Played with a cylindar and the fiber brush to make this image. Didn't think about composition until it was too late

Soquili,
Don't be intimidated, this place is full of kind people! And we all had to start somewhere Ya know?! Wait till you look back on a full years worth of Zwork and you will be amazed at your progress! I like this image though, it is a little bit dark which hides some of the details. Great colors in the sky and cool tree trunk,
Keep em' coming,
Best regards,
Michael

Hi Soquili
As Push said Don't be intimitated :)
There are only Zmasters on this forum ;)
The only measure is your pleasure !
The most important is the fun !
Post and read posts, you will always found something for inspiration or crazzy technic
For your image (a little dark) just go to the Render Menu/adjusment and play with the curves graph
Have happy Zbrushing

looking good, Soquili! you might want to try to get some postwork with the wonderful brushes zbrush has in stock done, though (hilighter and such). i dont know if you found out about this feature yet, but i find the fiberbrush looking more grasslike when i use a spotted alpha and disable continuous orientation in the picker palette now and then (by clicking on the icon and dragging the pink part upwards - dont forget to switch that back into its front position and enabling continuous again after using the fiberbrush, as other tools will behave a bit awkward).
keep them coming!

Thanks for all the comments :D
Michael - Thank you. The tools I've used so far feel a lot like working with oils or acrylics. I look forward to learning more about adjusting the settings.
Sirquadalot - Thank you. It does look soft, maybe a little like moss.
Pilou - Thank you. I read all the posts, not sure I always understand them  I'll have to play with changing the render curves.
Juandel - Thank you. I will try to do some postwork with the brushes you mentioned. So many tools, I forget some of them are available. Thanks for the information about dragging the pink part, I didn't know you could do that.
Best Regards

great postwork, Soquili! :)
the pink part is inside the picker palette, here is what it looks like before and after rotating it:

here is a recorded session (http://www.cyber-webs.com/zbrush/juandel/fiberscapescript.txt) done while creating this one:

99,5% fiberbrush :D (when replaying it i got some different positioning towards the end, but dont fret, you will get the idea until then :) - you might want to delete best renders by pressing the esc-button, as i did many of them :)
hope this helps!
