Nice Horse....
With cavity shadeing sometimes I get undesireable Crosshatching effect from low resolution meshes...Before I render useing a cavity shader sometimes I will subdevide a few times to make a more smooth feel to the cavity shader...
In the future I am going to try Exploit this crosshatching effect, and try makeing a toonshader with it...
BTW.. your horse is nice and smooth :) i just mentioned tip, because I have been useing cavity shader alot, and I have found "more desireable" effects after subdevideing and smoothing...
I also use blur brush sometimes in post production, to tweak the cavity shader a bit further :)
That is a wonderful horse... did you use Zspheres to make it?... I have been trying to make animals, all come out looking like disney charictors insted of real animals...I doodle too much I am afraid...
got any modeling tips on makeing realistic animals?
no i created the base inside maya as a preety low rez model, and then i imported to zbrush, i am too accustomed to my good old maya to completely switch over, at least right now. this model was from this project im working on now. i will bring him into Z2 as well, just from this one image you really see the difference in the before and after of the horses detailing http://www.warproductions.com/warrior_study.jpg
