I read this board now everyday along with CGtalk. I might as well contribute my first WIP since I enjoy looking at everyone else's WIP's everyday.

I just purchased Zbrush 2 last week and I simply love it. I can't wait to use it in full production in the future since Normal Maps are becoming mainstream.

I over did it on the folds and rinkles I think. (its easy to do in this program)LOL! Oops me cut and paste signature from 2003... oh well. :)

This is a very nice model, your firsst post is very impressive indeed.
I don't think you've overdid the folds in this example but I guess you'd have to texture and show it finished to assess that.
Anyways this is very nice and I look forward to seeing more of your work with Z2, I just can't stop playing with Z2 it has so much to offer, just doodling with it produces really great images.
I think that you should now expand this to a full blown alien model textured and posed.
Hope to catch more of your work, pretty impressive first post I must say.

Oh and welcome to the forum :)

Thanks for the crits. :)

The alien bust, I orginaly concepted to work on a mod game with some work buddies. (boy that sure didn't work out to well) heh! We were just coming up with ideas at that point so I only did a bust drawing.

The low poly hull was built in maya orginaly intended for a game model. The model was all butt shelved until I realized hey it may be fun to work on this for my first Zbrushing. It was subdivided 6 times.

I indeed plan on doing a full body textured character next. That will take a bit more planning but the challenge should be fun since I am usually used to working on highest poly characters at around 10k for in game models. :)

Next I want step into Zsphere's and see if I can build the full thing in Zbrush... alhtough I may still use Maya and Bodypaint too depending on whats better for certain things.

WARNING FatherGlory: ZSpheres may cause hallucinations, cold sweats, loss of sleep, extreme euphoria and that is only in test groups who were not allowed access to Projection Master. USE WITH EXTREME CAUTION AS SLEEPLESS NIGHTS WILL SURELY FOLLOW.

just kidding.......well not really hahhaa.
get the hang of zspheres.....you'll use the other programs less and less.

Dude that is a fantastic concept. I hope you post more of your ideas. That is truely original as far as what I've seen, and it's a nice change to see things such as this rather than the same old song, and dance.
Another reason to love the ZB forum. A lot of "different" work.

Here is another one I am working on this weekend. I still need to finish this one up but here it is at current state. This one is going be my Normal Map and Displacement Map Maya test model. I will probably texture this beotch since I modeled the full bod and it properly UV'd.

Man, are we going to have the pleasure of seeing your sketch transformed to 3D?
I am very interested in your workflow and how you take your sketchs to 3D.
