After my first modeling attempt 2 days ago, you will find my first model here, inspired by an artwork from the Dungeon & Dragons's psionics handbook (yes, I play/masterize RPG).

All done in Zbrush (with Zspheres & brush). That's no perfect, some mistakes with the mesh (due to Zspheres placement), I will try to correct it later.

What do you think about it?
Advices ?

Now, I would like to texturize this, but... how can I do, which tools do I have to use ?

A beautiful pet, no ? nobody approaches me when I leave it...
:D

Not perfect you say? But I don't know, I can't find one thing about it I don't like.
Well done.

really like the back skeletal structure ... nice job ... if yor looking for comments only thing it seems to need is maybe abit more detail in the face?

EDIT: ... cool :) this was post 100!

I agree with DanR this is very nice modeling. I think you could play around with Projection Master in Z2 to try some textures with this model there are some cool examples of using this module in the online help that comes with Z2.
Great modeling though, I love it hope you post the progress of this one for us to see.

Unfortunately not.
The mesh is not perfect, as you can see in this post (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=4&t=001250). I made a mistake during the placement of the zsphere (hard lesson of the training).

That will be the hard part for me. I have no skills in painting / texturing, and I need examples to see how works Zbrush (fantastic, those Zscripts, but when they clic on buttons, that's too fast...) and Texture Master / Projection Master.

If I have well understood, it allow me to "paint" on the model. But the model itself, is it always considered like a tool (I can save by tool/save as...) ?

Yes, if I am not ashamed of the result, lol.

Nawak:

That is a great model. I am lousy with zspheres so far although I haven't worked with them much as I'm still trying to improve with basic modelling and texturing. Like you, I have issues with texturing because I don't have any art background whatsoever, I can't draw, and I'm only beginning to develop a bit of an "eye" for art. If you want, you can look at my images (click on gallery) to see just how screwy my texturing is. Still, I've gotten results that I am moderately proud of (for a guy like me).

As far as using TextureMaster, it's great. I don't have zb2 yet so don't know about PM. Yes, you just start texture master, drop the model to the canvas, texture, and then pick it up again and texture is applied. Save tool frequently and the texture is saved as well.

Good luck and please don't be worried about posting. Even my models have been commented on by folks here and everyone is really supportive. Of course, I wish I could model like you!

Regards,
zero :)
