I have been trying to create shadows like this example from zbrush. Does anyone know how this was created? Do you have to export and then import in another 3D program in order to cast shadows?

Any help would be great :p

Casting shadows is easy. You just need to have a surface for them to fall on (in this case, a very large plane that was rotated something like 80 degrees) and a light that has the Shadow modifier turned on. In addition, you will probably want to increase the number of rays to about 100 and possibly even turn ZMode to on.

Finally, in the Render palette, you need to set Shadows to on and and do a Best Render to see them. Be prepared for a somewhat slower render than you're used to -- Global Shadows such as this take time.

Thanks for this information Matthew. I will certainly put it to use in the not too distant future.

Xacto I have relayed some information in this thread THE BUGMAN COMETH (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=007592) that may be of help to you.
