After aquainting myself with some of the drawing tools I decided to try my first image using 1.5.1.
I guess those who know me well could have bet the farm on the fact that my first image would have been something to do with the sea, sky and foliage. Well you would have won :ex:
I find the use of the right mouse button extreamely useful.

Nice rock in the foreground Joe, and the light on the sea is very sensitive in its handling...

I would suggest however that you go into the Lighting->Shadows pallette, set 'Rays' to 10, shadow aperture to around 120, then re-render...I think you'll find it has gotten a lot sharper, and the 'jaggies' will be gone.

Looks really good DeeVee. That rock texture I think is your best yet. Very realistic.

Yep that's a DeeVee piece all right! I knew it before I even clicked on the thumbnail. This one is particularly pretty, So peaceful and calm and I love the turquoise colour here. Very nice!

PS What does the right mouse button do?? I don't recall seeing it mentioned (yet).

When you click on the right mouse it pops up a pannel which serves as a short cut to many of the most common tools. like your brush size, intensity zadd, zsub and so on. Give it a try, you will love it.
I must admit it was one of the things I asked for in the make a wish list. Although Pix has added a lot more that I had asked for.

What it pops up is the 'QuickMenu', and the same result happens when you have the cursor in the drawing area and touch the Spacebar...
If you use a tablet, it is difficult to switch to the mouse, or in my case trackball, so the spacebar does it as well...

This is a reposting of the image above after applying the suggestion by stonecutter. http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads/user_image-1030602406qnb.jpg

The first one was wonderful but the second is even better! Very lovely colors!! I haven't tried painting as yet, but you have mastered it already!

P.S. Came across this too.. like when it says to go into edit.. and hit T, then S+1 for draw size..(ZSpheres) If your cursor is over the canvas when you hit the S, up pops the little scroll for the draw size by itself.. LOL it's so great!

You know DeeVee you make me SICK. HOMESICK that is! I grew up on Maui and haven't been back in about 7 years and everytime I see your work, well it makes me practically cry!! I appreciate your Island views, and could swear some of your pics are places on Maui, even though I know they're not. I've gone to sleep after seeing your stuff and then had tropical nightmares!! Well ok, only scary 'cause when I wake up I'm not there anymore, LOL. Any who's, keep up the great work and could you please think of me next time your in the ocean, I need some ocean energy. LORD I MISS THE OCEAN!!
BTW I argee that rock texture is one of your best yet, and yes the right mouse button is handy.

Thanks everyone, your comments are always welcomed.
SDL, I am so pleased that there is another tropical islander on this forum. It is also nice to know that my images remind you of home. I will continue to do so, if I am allowed :ex: Most islands are more similar than different so we can always see things on one which reminds of our island.
I am presently working on a boyhood image of a cookout under the trees on three stones. I am sure you must have a similar experience, either to roast fish caught in the stream or birds that were trapped or shot.
It should be finished later today.
DeeVee,
Joe.

Well, sadly my intolerance of heat means I will never be an islander, but I certainly enjoy travelling to them from the relative cool of my room via your paintings Joe - and this one is no exception. Long may they proliferate. :tu: :tu: :tu:
