Thanks to all the participants of our last ZSpeed Session (http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/showthread.php?t=23631)

To continue we are going to move to organics like Flowers and Vegetaion. Real or fantasy, doesn't matter save to have fun.

So, the object here is simple:

:b3: 1 to 3 hours for completion of the theme.

:b3: Post wires (at least the low res) and different views of the model and don't forget to tell us how long it took. Don't include load and render times.

:b3: The only other rule is all Z native work.

I would like to encourage the recording and sharing of zscripts. Its not required but I stress its use for two reasons: It's there anyway, why not use them and also because it is a valuable tool to teach process, technique, and provide inspiration. Plus, with Pix's new ZTime Lapse Plugin (http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/showpost.php?p=190280&postcount=1), its even easier to show progress. Plus, it times your session too.

Also, if you have the time or are feeling slick, you can texture it and finish up. I promise, we won't complain. But, finishing really isn't required. This is good for those who want to do something but don't have alot of free time.

Last but not least. It never ends. Thats right. It is a continuous challenge. This allows for new users to come and have fun in an older theme plus you can also come back and try again to see your own progress and attempt to best your previous session.

Okay yall, enjoy and have fun ZBrushing!

Sorry, but I have no Ztimelapse for this one, because for an unknown reason my Zbrush crushed on me twice. Maybe my computer knows that maybe it will be replaced with something new and is giving me a hard time,. The flower was made of zspehes with a lot of attractors to get the leaf shapes (simple and easy).

Happy Valentine's Day to you all.

Let's share our vegetation!!!!! It is a lot of work to make a good looking plant.
It took about one hour to make this bamboolike plant. If more ZBrush users share their vegetation we can build a nice library.

Not very original but well, it is Valentine's Day. This was cobbled together in rather messy fashion so you'll have to excuse the script (in the zip). It took twenty-one minutes. I spent another ten or so rearranging for the posted pic.

Edit: Apologies, first version of zscript I uploaded will stall because I edited out the 'Saves' but shouldn't have as ZB can't find the tools. When a Save dialog appears save the flower as 'rose.ztl' and the leaf/twig as 'twig.ztl' in the same folder as the script. ZB should then reload them OK when necessary.

Hey guys, been some time since I did a MNC. Thank's to MTB and Aminuts for getting the MNC's going again! I had a little time so I threw this little bugger together. This ziff took about 10 mintutes and stands at 394 polys. For my next update I plan on pushing some points on the low res cage to get it more into shape I want, then it's onto the medium freq stuff, and eventually the hi-res detail. Have a good one.

I'll give it a go this time. Finally I got a bit of time to do some Zbrushing. I hope I can come back and put some texture on. Unfortunately I had no references... Took me so far 11:36 minutes. Most time was spend pushing vertices as you can see from the Timelapse.

This is something I did in December before timelapse. It went quite fast probably not more than 1.5-2 hrs. The flower is a basic sphere with radial twisting. The vine is just Zsperes and the hookbrush for thorns.

I will see if I can find the original flower, I don't think I saved it

Excellent Jota and Bas. Beautiful plants. so much detail :tu: . I had a few minutes and coloured my plant in and provided some background. Iit was much fun. The plants are far to simple to be shared. I'll share a more sophisticated plant soon.

Love the long stemmed grass, is that a model or did you just paint them in?
Please share. Here are some leaves I've been working on. I have samples but the file is 781kb. I will upload them if any one wants them.

This little friend always visit my garden. Every summer he claimes the sunny corner near the wall. The zSphere model was made quick, about 30 min. After skinning I made an edge loop in all the small parts of the top of the flower to make the thorns. Selected the inner part and inflated it. An edgeloop can't be controlled (I think), so the thorns were too fat. Here the crazy job started, pushing all thorns by hand in position. Does anyone know there is a way to control the edgeloop? The loop is always made about 80% of the plane. There should be a slider to adjust the size of the inner loop.
Only the ZSphere version can be shared, the full version is about 70mb.
When I have time I will make a textured version.

i did these awhile ago, but it was around three hours modeling time, prob another hour and a half for texturing.

after geting the basic leaf and petals it went together pretty fast because most are built off the previous mesh.

ill upload the base files and textures if you like, that and if there is somwhere to put them Bas Mazur,;)

i would post the scripts but zbrush doesnt seem to like the way i do things, i dont know if its because i multi-mark so much or what, but they seem to get corrupted somehow.

let me know if there is somewhere to upload the files ill zipem up.

02-21-05, 10:40 PM
Hey poison....some cool stuff there......if the tools are zipped I think the limit is 500k.....you don't have to do the textures.....it's fun to see how others texture them.

Baz......excellent! Do those thistles bloom? here in America our thistles flower up kinda lilac to purplish and the bee's love em. They also take over your garden!!:D

Am working on a few to hopefully post and upload....but since the deer eat all my references it might take a while to post anything other than stems!

Hawkline, I wil try to post a bigger pict. I don't know why my picts are always small ones. I tried several ways making a jpg but always it becomes too small here. Anyone knows why??
The thistles are pure ZBrush work, no postwork in Photoshop.
Aminuts, this kind of thistle makes later in the year small green/white micro flowers. It's not the purple one we also have here.

Hi Bas Mazur,
when you press "Upload Image or File", you'll get a window to browse for the file. After selecting the image press "Upload". If your jpg file is less than 200kB then you'll get a message to "Place this image in your post." which is not the end of the story. When you do all those steps the name of the file will appear beneath the message part. Inside there you will have your file "yourfile.jpg" (size in KBs) and something like {ATT=number}yourfile.jpg{/ATT}. The part with ATTs can be dragged into your message. It will be placed on the current position of your cursor. That's your larger picture in your post. If you don't do it this way it will appear as tumbnail pic.

Hi Bas,

that bigger pic really makes it....pretty durn realistic looking!!

I would like to point you to an old thread that will give you some awesome tips on how to do dew or drops of water which I think would make that picture a killer picture......nice dawn/pre-bloom make you glad to be alive breathing fresh air kinda thing.....

the link (http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/showthread.php?t=8397&page=2&pp=15&highlight=render+passes)

hope the link works...will check it after I submit to be sure.

Edit...phew it does work but for some reason for me it won't go to the first page so you might have to do that to get Pix's tutorial....some great tips in this thread!!
